We were in Kyoto for the peak cherry blossom week. Prices were jacked up for that time, but we were aware and made the decision to stay at this location. Breakfast was good, but was exactly the same every day, so after 3 or 4 days, it would have been nice for some variation. Washers were available in the hotel for guests to use, but the wash/dry cycle was HOURS and so it was difficult to find a open time. There is no view from the windows/balcony, so no need to pay extra.

We enjoyed this hotel and would highly recommend. It is a new hotel, built to blend into the traditional architecture of Gion, and located in the heart of Gion. Modern and well-designed rooms. Extremely clean. Great shower and tub. Coffee maker in the lobby which made great espresso and other options. (Not like those K cup makers.) Staff was extremely helpful and worked with us to solve issues, not related to the hotel. Such as cancelling dinner reservations, etc. Beds were comfortable by Japanese standards. Easy walk to many sites and restaurants. Close to transportation links.

Wished we stayed on a higher level instead of 2/F so we could have a better view from the balcony.

Spacious and well decorated space. Loved the oxygen bubble bath and steam room, especially after a long day of outing. Staff are friendly and approachable. Free laundry room with 24 hours access is very convenient.

Absolutely beautiful property with all the facilities you could need whilst so close to all the sights. Great size rooms and very stylish with even a little kitchenette. Staff amazing as my partner was hospitalised and they supported me all the way. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Location in the Gion was fantastic. We walked to nearly all sites and restaurants. Historical feel. Rooms were immaculate and well-appointed. Front desk super helpful and spoke English. International customers. Breakfast was substantial with plenty of choices.

The room was very comfortable, well-appointed, clean, and in a fabulous location. We were able to walk everywhere to see the sights. The hotel is in a side street so it is really quiet. The lobby has a complimentary drinks machine so we enjoyed making coffee and hot chocolate. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

The size, large enough to have a restaurant and full staff, small enough to feel personal. Staff fluidity with English language was very helpful and it still felt like we were being hosted by local people. Vegan food option for one of the people in our party was an extra bonus.

We had a room with an oxygen bubble bath, it was awesome! Great variety at breakfast, comfy beds, very clean room, great hair dryer + small mirror to put on make up was a nice plus, helpful and kind staff, laundry machine on site! We walked everywhere it was a top location… Would definitely come back!

Although the room was perfectly clean, the bathroom area did have a bit of a smell on the second day. It's probably to be expected given how old the area is. Also, I wish there were bigger garbage bins in the bathroom. Having a stovetop was nice, but there was no kitchenware, so you can't really cook.

We booked a family suite with a sauna and soaking tub, which was REALLY nice. It was clean and spacious, and there was even a patio for relaxing. The room is AI-enabled, which was a convenient feature. On the second day, we had breakfast at the hotel, and the food was good. They even offered bite-sized mochi!
