The laundry machine doesn't dry clothes, we had to hang up the clothes to dry after dehydrating. Not an issue as everything else was perfect!

Hotel IRORI was the first hotel we stayed at in Japan, and it was very clean and pleasant. The room came with a temperature controlled shower, comfortable beds, balcony, microwave, fridge, multiple trash bins (for recycling), a washer/dehydrator, plates, metal utensils, etc. It was practically a fully furnished small apartment. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and they spoke great English. We arrived early in the morning, the staff offered to store our luggage and even bring it to our room when the room was ready. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the train station, with easy access to convenience stores, shops, and restaurants. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Abit uncomfortable at the narrow dinning table. It's kinda cramped if u are seating there eating while someone trying to walk past u. Have to be careful not to knock over when walking towards the door. Also no extra space to put 2 medium size luggages. Other than that this is a really nice clean comfortable apartment

Irori is in a great central location for getting around Kyoto, not far from Kyoto Station and not that far from Kyoto's main shopping district, Kyoto is a very walkable city which makes getting around easy for those that choose to explore on foot and Irori is in an great location for such adventures.

The experience depends a lot on which room you book. The first two nights we stayed in room 106 which had no proper window and was depressing to be in. It’s also an uncomfortable room. There is no closet area to place shoes, hang coats, or store a suitcase. There are coat hangers installed on the wall directly above the dining table, but this is an eyesore and inconvenient since you are worried about splattering food on your clothes when you eat. Also the room had almost no shelf space in the laundry/shower area or the bedroom to place things - there is a kind of desk space across from the bed but it is rendered unusable because the tv is placed right over it. Later we moved to another room (101) which did have a closet area and a window - it was an infinitely better experience.

The people who work here are absolutely lovely. We had a problem with our booking (I thought I had booked three nights but turned out I’d only booked two). They were very kind and understanding about the error and helped us move to another available room. Also this hotel is spotlessly clean, and the neighborhood is picturesque.

The shower did not heat that fast enough and would have to wait around 3 minutes of the water running to actually feel it get warm. Although there was a veranda we could not get out to be on it--the view was not that great as well, so it's good enough.

I liked how the door did not need a key but instead just a pin code they provide through an email. The staff are super friendly, also there are close by convenience stores which is great if you get hungry at night. The stations are relatively near so it's easy to go around. The room has a washing machine so it's great if you stay for long periods. They even provide laundry liquid soap.

As a westerner , the traditional beds take a bit to get used to, but staff provided additional comfort mattresses.

Laundry machine did not work properly, so we had to walk to a nearby laundry shop to complete our washing and drying. Miscommunication between staff and myself. In one conversation I thought the hotel could assist us with luggage delivery service to our next hotel so I left it to the last day of our stay. When the day came, I found out the hotel did not offer this service so we had to complete luggage delivery service at a nearby convenience store which was inconvenient but the staff did kindly help fill out the forms.

The room layout itself was quite comfortable for 3 adults. And the location was near public transport, shopping and restaurants. Staff was lovely and helpful!

The apartment lacks daylight as it is located on the ground floor. However this is not the fault of the hotel and we're aware of it beforehand.

This is the 2nd time I stay in this hotel. All things were great. There are simple kitchen, laundry, bath, in the room. Cleaning condition was great also. If I have chance visit to Kyoto. i will choose this hotel again. Thanks

Location was very convenient to Kyoto Station. The room was wonderful!! Loved the bunk beds! Would stay here again! Also appreciated that when we got there early to leave our bags as we explored the area, when we returned later in the day our bags were already in our room - very kind of them to do that.
