Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesHowever, if you think business hotels are cramped, Of Hotel will surprise you. There's clearly not enough space for two people, let alone luggage. The bed is quite uncomfortable, and if you're tall, you won't rest well in it.
The price of this hotel is indeed very pleasant, with a convenient location near the central station and within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. There's a nice bar on the -1 floor. Overall, it's a good option for a solo traveler packing light. The loft style might not be to everyone's taste, but in this case, everything feels quite organic and beautiful.

AustraliaThe smaller room is only suitable for one person. Didn't get a comfortable sleep with two persons sharing the bed.
A bit quirky but that isn't the problem. We booked three rooms but only two larger rooms were available. The larger rooms with queen beds are good while the smaller room with double bed itself being a little wider than a single is simply too small.

PolandThe rooms are relatively small, this could be troublesome for those travelling with a lot of luggage. I was also a bit disappointed with breakfast options - nothing truly Japanese, more of an imitation of European cuisine.
The staff was very welcoming and could communicate in English, which is not so obvious here in Japan. My double room was neat and cozy and had everything a person or a couple might need for a short stay, including air con, a small fridge, water heater for tea etc. Good experience overall.

United KingdomCoffee shop seemed to be closed while I was there which is a shame as it looked nice.
Room had a cool minimalist vibe. Staff were friendly, not a huge amount of English, but still got by. Very clean and nice lot of amenities. Great price and good location near the train station.

JapanA few more breakfast options would have been appreciated.
Despite a mistake made due to lack of sufficient information on Booking.com, the reception staff went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable room and that our stay was successful. There was plenty of space in the rooms for laying things out.

United StatesThe cleaning crew came just as I was getting ready to leave for an important meeting. I asked him to come back in 10 minutes, and he just wouldn’t leave! I needed to get ready to leave and he kept saying if he can’t start cleaning the room now, it won’t be cleaned until 2pm, I have to remember to put up the “please clean the room” sign or it won’t be cleaned, make sure I don’t put the wrong sign, then he won’t be able to enter the room, on and on and on. When I came back, the room had been “cleaned” but it wasn’t really clean, and soiled sheets were left in the room. Very unprofessional, I would say. Other staff was very nice and competent.
It was an interesting hotel. Very minimalist but comfortable

GermanyThe rooms were very small - I could not open my suitcase without blocking the exit door. Also, the rooms are not made for tall people - watch your head when you enter the room. The room layout was also a bit unusual in that most of the room was slightly elevated - you only had a very small "entrance area" (about 1-2 m^2) where you wear shoes. This area already includes the only sink of the room. The rest of the room is already on the level of the bed, with some small space to sit at a desk.
The design was quite nice (industrial design) and the hotel is very new. Also, the receptionists were very helpful and spoke good English. I appreciated that each floor was equipped with a water dispenser. The hotel is quite close to the main station (5-10 min walk).
