Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing.
Loved the size of the apartments and that it was in a quieter part of town, but still walking distance to markets and restaurants. Staff were very helpful and complimentary beer and sake tastings for happy hour was a great way to relax and meet fellow travellers.

United KingdomNothing to dislike, as far as we were concerned
The apartment was wonderful. Bigger than we expected. It had everything that we need for our 4 night stay. Every afternoon they held tasting sessions for sake & beer plus other things are scheduled for guests to join, such as a calligraphy lesson. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Its location was perfect for us. There was plenty of public transport , if required. We found it easy to walk to most locations.

AustraliaThe towels were a little small and could have been a bit nicer. The washing machine in the room was great however we had a few issues operating it.
Staff were exceptional, assisted us whenever we needed it. The hotel has a happy hour for guests so you can socialise. They offer drinks for the kids and a coffee machine, all of which got good use by us. The rooms were very comfortable, we had a 3 bedroom unit for our stay. Kitchen was handy to have and the table and living area were a decent size. Highly recommend this hotel. You’re close to Nishiki market, the bus and train, to get around all the sights. Should out to Alizee who works at reception, she’s extremely helpful. Tomomi who also works at the front counter had a calligraphy business and runs experiences in the lobby, well worth it!

Loved the spacious rooms and the washing machine. It was the perfect stop halfway through our visit to Japan to relax and wash our clothes. The kids enjoyed the bingo challenge given to them by reception. Great idea to engage the kids.

United StatesWould be nice to have full front desk service at night instead of just overnight security
Excellent multilingual staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was in quiet area right around the corner from a temple but still had access to many amenities within a 2-block radius: a bakery, a fancy little pastry shop, convenience stores, and multiple small restaurants. Suite with multiple bedrooms, kitchen, and in-unit laundry was super-convenient for our family. Enjoyed the nice touches like evening drinks in the lobby and calligraphy lesson with Tomomi-San.

United StatesMinor, but one of the bedrooms doesn’t have a window. And the one that does have a window doesn’t have full blackout shades. But these are minor I would highly recommend this property to my friends. And would look to return!
Super well laid out apartments - we had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a living room. It was so clean and comfortable! The washing machine worked really well and was much appreciated. What really helped our stay were the staff - they are truly multilingual and were so helpful and warm. Our room had a sweet view of a small temple! It was also very very quiet and had plenty of space. Happy hour was a nice treat! The area was pleasant and safe and I could trust my tween boys to go out on their own in the morning to buy junk food from 7-11 which they loved :)

New ZealandNothing, we enjoyed our stay here.
We stayed here for four nights in a superior two bedroom suite. We were able to spread out and have space as a family.of four. The facilities were fantastic and clean. Having a washing machine/dryer in our room was great. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The happy hour each night was a nice add on. The location was great and we didn't have any problem walking to a number of attractions, and it was an easy walk from the train station, There were also a number of eating places about 5-10 minutes walk away, and more if you want to venture further.

United StatesThe only thing that i can think of would be that taxis had a hard time finding the entrance. That's it, can't really do 2 to 3 sentences about that. The hotel does their best to remedy that by giving you a card to give to drivers to show them where it is, so it wasn't too bad.
The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a memorable, comfy stay. Super close to the train, 7-11, stores, and restaurants The staff were very friendly and helped you out with pretty much anything.. There was a calligraphy lesson and full range of fun and helpful items.
