Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesNo bidet to the toilet inside the room.
I like the social vibe on the common area. Also, I like there are instruments that you can play with. Best for the solo traveler like me. You will meet a lot of travelers there.

LithuaniaThere is no drinking water refill. Not a lot of space for the luggage in the room, but it was enoth for my backpack and for repacking.
Amazing stuff. The location is good, quiet port area, grocery store 3 min away from hostel, few restaurants nearby. Bus stop 8 min away, monorail 15 min. City center 30 min by walking. Big kitchen with a big common area. A dorm room for 6 people has its own shower and restroom. Insanely good money value.

CanadaExcellent location by the ferry port for the Kerama Islands. This hostel is an excellent jumping off spot for travels in the area. We returned here after 2 nights on Tokashiku and staff happily stored our big bags. Rooms are lovely and common area is fantastic. Staff are excellent. Highly reccomend

CanadaA bit of a walk into central Naha but not too bad, around 15/20 mins on foot.
Great value for double room. Clean and well furnished with a comfortable bed and desk. Washrooms very nice and clean, soap and shampoo provided. Secure rooms with Key and Code access. Friendly staff, cheap laundry and drying area. Very close to Ferry Port to Tokashiki, Zamami and Kerama Islands ~2min walk. Luggage stored for us whilst we are on the island, very helpful. Common area is good. Has tables, bar type counter and a tatami area. They also have a work space. Kitchen area is small, but fairly well equipped

Great space for socialising, EVERYONE came in with the mindset to meet people and to trade information about good spots in Okinawa. Aside from that, there are also good space to do work and a handful of people who prefer to keep to themselves.

United KingdomI thought the dorm room wasn't clean. They obviously don't vacuum more than the main part of the floor, so around the foot of the bottom bunks, and under the futons, it's quite disgusting.
First of all, the staff are friendly, helpful and chatty. The common area is a great place to meet people. The kitchen has everything. The showers are clean and effective. Beds are comfortable. The location is great for day trips to islands.

United StatesAs it was slightly out of the town, it can be difficult to get transportation there when the buses stop running - taxis did not always know where to stop. This can be resolved by giving them a landmark though!
Stayed in a room with its own bathroom, so I can't say anything about shared amenities, but my room was very spacious (VERY) and clean. Check in and check out were easy as well and bus stops were walkable.

GermanyOur double bed room has a rather small bed. The rooms are not soundproof. The cars driving by in front of the hostel in the morning could wake you up.
The location is very good if you want to go off with the ship to the islands. A nice small fish market is around. The hostel was quite clean.

SwedenSlightly worn beds, but clean sheets.
A basic but functional accommodation down by the ferry terminal in Naha's ferry port. Nice staff who speak English. A convenience store within a few blocks - if you fancy something. You will find many good restaurants within walking distance. An affordable accommodation.

United KingdomClose to ferry port but ever so slightly out of the way (but walking distance to the monorail). Social area is slightly disconnected from the rooms, separate building, however that did mean sleeping floors were very quiet.

United StatesThis fault is universal in hotel room: 1 chair for double room. The only "chair" in this room was a three leg stool that was so small and weak I was afraid to sit on it. They should fix carpet and floor on the steps (that could have been one reason they offered to carry out bags up).
We had a private room for 2 people with shared bathroom. It was small, but felt cozy. The flooring, wallpaper and bathroom were new, modern and clean. It was quiet. This is a backpacker style place with kitchen and relax room. We are older people and the front desk offered to carry our packs up the stairs to the third floor which we couldn't let them do (pride). If you want to take the ferry, this is the perfect close location.

United KingdomReception and kitchen is in one building, the bedrooms are in the building next door, so when it rains you'd get wet walking between the two buildings.
Staff are very nice and speak great English. Some of the staff were there for work exchange. It was convenient to have the toilet and shower in the dormitory but I preferred walking to the upper floor to the common bathroom because it was more spacious, better ventilated and I can sit down in front of a mirror. The kitchen was very good albeit it is narrow so very easily gets crowded when multiple people want to use it simultaneously. The lounge area is great for socialising and the co-working space upstairs is ideal for remote working. Coin operated washer and dryer, plus there is a covered drying area to hang clothes.
