Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyNo problems.
The location is in a residential area but really near a metro station on the Asakusa line that connects to both Tokyo airports. The room was the smallest that we found in Japan but very clean, so overall it was really good. The staff is very friendly and spoke good English.

SlovakiaAt the first night of our stay we got a call from refeption (we think so, they didn't ibtroduce themselves) at midnight! A man asked my name, apologized, then spoke to another man in Japanese, who asked me again for my name and then he apologized again and hung up. I have no idea what was that about. The room was very hot. Air conditioning blew right at the bed no matter which way you set it. The view was at opposite building, so the room was very dark.

BelgiumI would have appreciated if there was a smart tv available in my room so I can cast youtube or disney+ on it. I could not easily fill my water bottle anywhere as the sink is very small for it to fit and there is no cold water fountain.
I feel relaxed in a room with warm wood tones and a pastel green. Bed was firm and I could sleep well at night. The pillows have a hard side that made leaning on the headboard comfortable, perfect for scrolling on your phone while in bed or reading a book. Wifi signal is strong and I did not have any issues with the speed. There are multiple USB ports that made charging all my devices easy. At the reception they also rent out JP type wallplugs, so convenient. Airco fan is silent and I did not feel bothered by the noise or breeze if I left it on while sleeping. Shampoo and bodywash don't have a strong smell. The water warms up fast and the pressure is strong. I did not mind the walk from the JR Takanawa Gateway station. While the KK metro line A4 exit is one building away making transfer from and to the airport so easy. I found myself always stopping at the 7 eleven as I would pass by it on my way to the room. Thanks to the lovely reception staff who helped me out in English! Hope to see you again in the future as I enjoyed my stay.

United KingdomThe Sengakuji station does not have elevator or lift so can be a bit challenging if you bring big luggage. The hotel doesn't provide water bottle but tap water is safe to drink in Japan so that's fine :)
The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk to the Sengakuji station, which has direct Keikyu line to Haneda airport within 30'. Room size is not very big but is standard compared to other Japanese hotels, the staff are very friendly and helpful. You can pick up a bunch of amenities from the lobby as well, or there's a 7/11 just a min walking from the hotel in case you need any snacks or drinks

IsraelBreakfast if 1 min walk from the hotel in a small restaurant. They are giving 4 built in options for breakfast which are pretty similar. If you stay several nights, breakfast becomes to be a boring. Unlike other hotels in Japan, there is no smoking room in the hotel, allowed smoking area is 5 mins walk from the hotel.
Good hotel with fairly large rooms considering room sizes in hotels in Japan. Very friendly staff. Coffee machine in lobby, washing and drier machines on the second floor. 3 mins walk from train station. 2 convenience stores 1 min walk distance.

CanadaWe didn’t realize this area is primarily non residential work buildings. We struggled to find places to eat close by(walking distance). Most if not all of them were atleast a station away. The construction you see on the road in google maps in front of/close to the hotel is still happening. The room we stayed in was considerably smaller as compared to the picture. There wasn’t enough walking space.
It’s very close to sengakuji station from where you are a stop or two away to be able to board the Yamanote line. From this station you can board an airport rapid express to haneda and narita station which is very convenient. The staff is very polite, they accommodated our late checkout request on the day itself. Despite having barely any walking space, the bed was big enough for two people.

AustraliaThe dryer was not so great, but hanging the clothes after on the hangers given was okay to finish drying them off. It is a little further out of the heart of Tokyo however being next to a station it's still incredibly convenient. The pillows were a little bit hard and uncomfortable.
Facilities were excellent, Staff were always present and helpful both early and late in the day. It exceeded our expectations, laundry facilities were excellent and affordable. Room was clean, cosy, and the shower was clean and warm. Located right next to a station it was easy enough to get there from Narita Airport with the use of 2 trains.

GermanyThe breakfast, order with a reservation, was served in nearby restaurant. In this restaurant, there is only a Japanese menu. It was not possible to select items, and finally there was no coffee. I suggest avoiding booking breakfast.
It’s a good establishment, with good value.
