Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The room was clean, very spacious. Plugs were available every corner of the room. Staff were courteous and very helpful. Although the onsen was small, it was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor onsen felt amazing. Lots of amentities available to use after the bath. Food provided was filling and delicious - a lot of variety. Staff were very helpful with driving us to where we need to go after check out. Would def recommend to make arrangements with ArimaOnsen to pick up the station, since the place is located on a hill.

IndonesiaNothing honestly, but if I could suggest maybe it is better for you to have an elevator from downstairs to the lobby because it will ease the staff to carry the heavy suitcases upstairs. In addition to that, maybe you should add more cars to pick up the visitors from the train station or from the nearby airport.
We love everything about this accommodation. The staff were friendly, the facilities were exceptional. The kaiseki breakfast had no flaws. They were delicious. The yukatas are really warm so it was very comfortable for us to even go outside using them. The yukatas are even warmer than our jackets. We also got free slippers that we could write our names on. We also really love the kinsen and the onsen. They provide complete facilities too like a place to take a shower, soap, shampoo, hair brush, cotton pads, hairdryer, shower cap, and so on. They also provide lockers for you to put your clothes in.

Hong KongThe onsen pools are small and, exceptionally, there were no towels in the changing room.
The room was sizable and so was the private one at the restaurant. Tasteful drawings and minimal flower arrangements were everywhere, with books and chairs to remind guests to take it easy and enjoy tranquility and comfort. The onsen pools command a nice view of the town and its neighbouring lush hills. If one has only one night in Arima, he'll do well here.

United StatesAs others have mentioned, there is a large set of stairs to reach the building, not the best when you have large suitcases. We also felt that the price was very steep for what we were offered. The town is lovely and worth a visit, but there are many options to choose from and it might be easier to find a different location that is more modern and accessible for the same price.
We enjoyed our stay in general. The beds were so incredibly comfy. The baths were so relaxing and we didn’t encounter anyone in them during our stay so it felt very private. The staff spoke very good English and made sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was a feast and served in a beautiful dining room that felt very private.

JapanThe location is only accessible through a lot of upward inclines (stairs or hill). They have a free shuttle, but it was only accessible from 9-11 am. Pack your luggage accordingly or consider getting there by car. Also, we weren't able to store our luggage at the front desk after checkout (the shuttle driver took us to a good location for coin lockers). [A side note about the coin lockers - get there early because they can fill up quickly, and there aren't a lot of options in Arima.]
The staff are very kind and welcoming, and they greeted us with tea and delicious homemade wagashi. The baths are lovely and well kept. They offer both kin no yu and gin no yu options (located indoors and outdoors respectively). The room was a very good size, and the tatami was lovely. We didn't have a bath attached to our room, but the public/communal baths were empty every time we went (though this may have been affected by the fact that we visited in June). We would love to visit again.

Hong Kongone of two hot spa onsen is relatively small that u cannot even straighten your legs when sat down. it’s just a little bigger than a bath tub. it would be nice if the hotel offers ice bar or ice cream, or Yakult, and massage chair outside the onsen.
