Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeMy wife had a bad experience with the staff as she was trying to call for assistance to park our park. The staff kinda ignored her and told her she went to the wrong hotel until I showed up. They could have come forward to listen and help. There's some miscommunication and bias?
My experience was good; from staff to room to breakfast. Like the location. Can easily walk around with my Google map.

United KingdomThe dryer function of the washing machine was not functioning (it was giving an error), but we might just were unlucky.
Value for money. Compact but comfortable. Clean, and central. We get the equipments we needed (microwave, fridge, and washing machines, and the shoes dryer). The check-in and check-out were both smooth and easy. We paid for full day parking lot that we can use during our stay.

United StatesA slightly more comprehensive guide to the in room washing machine would help. I managed to run another 2+ hour cycle instead of opening the door and only pulling the power managed to get it open after.
The location was very convenient. being only a short walk from the subway and in easy walking distance to a covered mall and Susukino via the mall. The room was small and unremarkable with a view of an office building but nothing was really bad about it - just your regular run of the mill business hotel. The staff were great - very helpful and attentive and easily fixed an issue I caused when booking Breakfast was very tasty with a delicious soup curry available every day.

SingaporeEverything was good, staff can speak English, ready to give directions and helpful. There was a coffee machine at the lobby providing free coffee but we were always in a rush or already had coffee at the breakfast, so did not try it.
One of the days, we had included breakfast and it was good. Well-organised, small selection but good quality western and Japanese breakfast options. Room was complete with microwave and fridge and washer/dryer. Great instruction pamphlets given to every room too. Compact but has everything we need.

Initially we booked for a Superior Double Room and think it would be ok for 2 adults and a toddler. However when we turned up we realised it was small and due to the long stay (5 nights) and a lot of luggagges we decided to pay extra to upgrade to Deluxe Twin Room (24m²). The room is much larger and we have more space to move around. They also provide water, ice and coffee however their coffee machine is capsule type so I didn't use it. Location was great and in walking distance to all shopping malls and restaurants. We like the Tokyu Stay hotel chain due to their microwave and washing machine equipped in each room and highly recommend to families with kids.

United StatesEven though the hotel was 10 mins walk to the station, getting to it was difficult due to snow on the roads and the underground walk way was very confusing due to lack of correct directions!
Overall the stay was good and the location was close to attractions and markets

SingaporeKind of small, but understandable for a Japanese hotel. Also limited housekeeping. Door opens outwards which makes the room more cramped.
Location is great, very near Tanukikoji Shopping Street, Njio Market, access to subway on exit 34 of Odori station. Having washing machine in the room is also very much appreciated. Staff is very helpful and even helped us check in easily when our flight got delayed and we arrived past 12 midnight.

IndonesiaIt is definitely more on the smaller side. The toilet and the shower were in different sides of the room, but it was a minor issue. We got a smaller room since 3 people were staying in the room. There wasn't much space to put our baggage, we made it happen though.
It was located quite central, close to the Points of Interest around the city. It was a bit icy here and there though, so its better to be careful when you are carrying lots of baggages from the bus to the hotel. This is during early March. The room facilities were great! it had a washing machine + dryer, clothes steamer, shoe dryer.

SingaporeThere is another Tokyu Stay Sapporo nearby. Taxi that we took brought us to the wrong hotel and left. I thk the hotel must name their branches more clearly within the same area. Pls use exit 34 from the Sapporo Central underground passageway to access the hotel easily. We did not know at first and We had to walk through icy and slippery roads to and fro this hotel.
Has complete facilities, such as a microwave and a washer dryer in the room. Good location that is in between the Odori and the Susukino subway stations. The daily breakfast was a small selection but tasty and of good quality. The staff were always helpful and has good customer service. They accepted and kept our luggage that was forwarded by Takkyubin from Hakiodate.

CanadaNothing of note!
Really well located and soft landing pad for our arrival in Japan. The staff was very nice, professional, and helpful. The room was comfortable and well equipped; such a bonus to have a laundry machine right in the room! The bed was quite comfortable and we had room to move around. We enjoyed the complementary coffee in the lobby and the breakfast was decent, we only decided to do breakfast the first day. We walked everywhere we wanted to explore during our stay in Sapporo; just a few minutes from the park and radio tower, lots of great food nearby, and the main stations are close.
