That I couldn't stay longer! I have zero negative things to say. I loved this hotel.

I picked this hotel for its historical context and proximity to nearby neighborhoods and landmarks of interest. I didn't expect to get a whiteglove treatment and such hands-on care.

    Nothing. It was exceptional.

This is one of the most wonderful hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff are wonderful, the building is beautiful and the rooms very well appointed. The extras like a lovely cold beer when you arrive and evening snacks are great. The whisky bar is a nice touch. The breakfast is just utterly incredible. I would love to stay here again. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay ❤️

Best mini bar and lounge snacks ever. Very friendly staff. They have a Chinese speaking staff too. love the details in the design inspired Nintendo elements and history. Close to subway and Kamo River for a quiet late night walk. Very pleasant stay overall.

everythingis perfect! But I really hope the hotel can offer some small souvenirs or memorabilia, like playing cards or something similar, for guests to purchase as mementos.

This was a truly surprising and delightful experience. When I was searching for hotels on Booking I noticed that the room description mentioned it was designed by Tadao Ando. When we arrived at the hotel, we saw Nintendo branding and realized this was the birthplace of Nintendo! The small fridge, and in the lounge area, all the drinks and entertainment were complimentary. The quality of the refreshments and food provided was excellent. After 9pm, they even offer free ochazuke (tea over rice) in the lounge. The location is excellent, and the hotel provides bicycle rentals.

The hotel is just great! Start with the team-kind, helping, English fluency speaking! The hotel is a boutique hotel with 15 rooms only. The rooms are quite large and the tubs are fantastic, highly recommend! Don’t forget to visit the lounge with the self made drinks, or lobby with all day long free drinks and snacks.

Right from arrival it was 5-star service! Riku picked up on me being a fan of Nintendo and showed me around the building and what furniture and installations are still from the original Nintendo Headquarter this hotel once was. I stayed in the Japanese Suit which was brilliant. The best part to me was the open air bath which I enjoyed for multiple hours. A hot bath in crisp February air. Also the hotel being all inclusive with a nicely stocked mini bar helped to relax and enjoy the evening.

Interior was well renovated to blend the modern lighting into an historical building. Love the lounge service where we can have a drink and chill. The Library area is a gem of this hotel where you can find a lot of Nintendo history and the past game consoles at display.

By comparing with other Kyoto hotels, I hope they can invest more efforts into the room cleaning, my room was not very clean as there was some hair on the floor and bathroom. And left over dishes and tea pot from previous guests. They helped me to clean the room again, it’s just the first expression not that perfect.

love the food selection from their mini bar. Absolutely high quality and tasty especially their caramel pudding! Loved it Staff very friendly and professional!
