Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaSmall room, old furniture, and bathroom wasn't very clean, the toilet looked like someone has just been there and not splashing the water after. And it is overpriced!

GreeceThe steep stairs were a bit tough but cannot blame the Hotel since this is typical for a Dutch building/house. There was some dust in the dresser but overall the room was clean.
The location of the hotel is simply great as it is well-situated in one of the city center canals and is within walking distance from the main city attractions. The personnel in the reception and the breakfast room were also great, always with a smile and willing to help. I loved the breakfast room as it was in front of a canal intersection and you could see the active life of the city. The variety of the food offered in the breakfast was satisfying. Our room was in the back and was quiet enough, ideal to sleep without any noise. I will be happy to stay there again in my next visit.

United KingdomOnly minor things: we would have preferred a bath. And negotiating the stairs with a suitcase was challenging.
The hotel was located on one of the main canals encircling the city centre, within walking distance of the main attractions. Our room was in the back, so didn't look out onto the canal, but was very quiet and spacious. Two arm chairs and comfortable beds. The breakfast room was on the corner with big windows and lovely views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomSee above about the 50 stairs up to our fabulous 3rd floor room
The hotel is quirky but delightful. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good - a continental breakfast with good choice. Excellent coffee. The breakfast room is lovely with huge windows facing the canal and it was fun to watch all the commuters on their bikes - a veritable ballet! And the availability of drinks in the lounge was excellent. We were warned there was no lift. We were on the third floor, a fabulous room with views over the canal. But, after tpiring days out, we found the 50 stairs to the room an effort! All in all, a lovely stay but if you do have mobility problems it would be advisable to ask for a room on the first floor. We would recommend this hotel. The location is also superb - walking distance to most sights in central Amsterdam.

United KingdomThe stairs to my 3rd floor room were incredibly steep which is understandable in a traditional Amsterdam townhouse! But it would have been good to have offered some help getting my bags up on arrival.
Excellent location, right in the heart of things. 5 minutes walk to Anne Frank's House. 20 minutes to the Centraal Station. Good restaurants/bars/shopping within walking distance all around. Good breakfast. Comfortable lounge with free tea and coffee. Staff extremely helpful and nice. Everything spotless.

United StatesThe only downside was some noise at night but that's to be expected in a first floor room in Amsterdam. This was a tradeoff for only having to climb one flight of stairs.
Great location with a fantastic view of the canal and plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping close by. Nice breakfast room with a good selection of items each morning; coffee/tea available all day. Room size exceeded expectations - very large bathroom and an unexpected extra bedroom in our room.

TurkeyWe absolutely adored everything about this place, except for the incredibly steep stairs – but hey, that's just part of the charm of Amsterdam, right? :) Our room was delightful, with a lovely view overlooking the canal, which made our stay even more special. The location is fantastic; you can easily stroll to almost anywhere, and it's just a brisk 25-minute walk from Centraal Station. All in all, it was a wonderful stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to return here for future trips.
