Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAfter taking a shower, there would be some water on the floor around the toilet which did not easily drain on its own. There was s small short handled sqeegee provided so you can use it to push the water to the drain. This was not a huge problem but it was something I did not expect. The area directly under the shower drains very well. It’s just when the water travels towards the toilet, it can’t come back easily on its own.
The staff were lovely and the location is excellent. It’s on a beautiful street and walking distance to most attractions. There are also restaurants, pubs, bakery and supermarket nearby. And the tram station is just steps away. The building is charming and has a lot of steep stairs. That was not a problem for me but if someone has mobility issues, it will be difficult for them. I loved my little single room with a view of the trees and canal. I was very comfortable in the room but if you are a larger person you might feel the bed and shower stall to be too narrow. I really liked that they let you keep your baggage downstairs after checkout and there’s also a small bathroom that is available for guests to use. They will provide you with the entry code so you have easy access to your bags and the bathroom after you hand in your keys.

United StatesHaving to set up booking thru hotel & Booking.com. Also, preferred self/serve breakfast rather than have to schedule a time each day. Because they had added a room, our booking was confused . We had requested room 1 which overlooks the canal & is larger, but started out with room zero🤷🏻♀️which was not large enough for four of us. We were able to change it, fortunately. Just little changes that we did not have from before.
We have stayed here for years under different management, so price for us had doubled( most likely to be comparable with the area),we had a slight mix-up with our room which got corrected, & sometimes hard ro connect with management while there. Breakfast had changed as well- we liked the former dining room & self-serve set-up from before as well aa food choices were slightly better as well as a coffee machine that could do many choices. Missed our friendly Mark, too. We still will continue to come- think they are still in a learning curve with new management. Still a charming place that has all our places we frequent nearby.

United KingdomThere is no lift in the property and stairs are steep. The property is mainly suitable for travellers with light luggage and not for very senior citizens.
Staff was excellent! Location central and very convenient about one minute walk to the tram station, bars and restaurants. The ambiance of the property is rustic.

GreeceIn general, there were no major issues, so nothing to worry about. Out of secondary issues, the main one was that there was essentially no reception and it was hard to get in touch in-person with the staff in order to ask questions (if needed). This resulted in me missing a breakfast and I wasn't able to ask someone for it (I was in a rush and didn't bother getting in touch via email/messaging). Also, there was a false alarm ringing at some point, which led us out of the hotel for several minutes, and it took some time until someone came to shut it down.
The hotel is almost centrally located in a very nice neighborhood, and close to restaurants and public transport. The room was comfortable (a bit oblong) and provided all necessary amenities - even though an extra power socket next to the desk would be appreciated. It had also a window overlooking to the canal, which was nice. The breakfast was good, offering good variety, even though I had some trouble ordering (see my comment below).

United KingdomSome people will find the steps and stairs from street level and up to the first floor tricky, but they were no problem for us.
This is a nice hotel and the room we stayed in was actually much more pleasant than the online pictures suggest. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine. There was a large kettle, as well as a Magimix machine with plenty of coffee. The breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us check in early and leave our luggage for a few hours on departure day. We were not aware of any noise from outside. The no.4 tram stop is a few metres away.

CanadaVery tiny room for a family of four. Basically space for beds, that’s it. No chairs, no table. Would have been helpful for serving breakfast into room. We had hoped for a view of canal but instead viewed the courtyard. It was ok but would have been nice. Should be mentioned that there is a steep narrow stair case to get in. Neighbour is not too keen if you accidentally ring their bell instead of the hotel’s.
Location amazing and breakfast yummy. Friendly hosts. Great neighbourhood.

SwitzerlandWe could hear different people listening to different kinds of music in their rooms late in the evening, and also someone kept making noises upstairs even at night. The beds were really squeaky, so you would wake up at night all the time
The location is nice, the stuff is nice. There were parrots flying next to the hotel and singing on the trees. We could watch them when we were walking up in the morning. There was a kettle with tea and a coffee machine with the capsules, that was really helpful.

GermanyIt's a really personal opinion and others might even prefer this, but the beds are really hard. I also need to mention that besides the general cleanliness of the room, which was really good, the bathroom could have gotten a little more attention.
Perfect location to explore Amsterdam, everything is very close. The room has the perfect size, enough hooks to hang things, storage, seating, coffee and tea. And the coffee was very good. The breakfast which is served in the room is really good too. Uncomplicated check in and really nice staff.

Lovely place, really Nederlands style so I loved it. The location is great and I love how the place is near a canal and sourrounded by many bar and restaurants. The breakfast given by the hotel is honestly amazing! The room is super cozy and I loved how the tv had any kind of streaming platform.

United StatesFacilities, especially bathrooms, were a bit basic for the price per night. Walls were not very thick so you could hear people in the hallway or in adjacent rooms, though everyone was a good neighbor so this was not a significant problem.
Great location in the canal ring, with a bonus that the tram line runs down the adjoining street, making it super easy to get around Amsterdam. Easy access to key tourist destinations in the heart of the city, and to the Museumplein.
