Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStairs daunting when one enters - but to be expected in this type of building. I didn't mind, but there was no TV in the room. Main complaint was lack of sugar/sweetener and milk in the room - pity as there were 20 tea bags!
Room was clean and bed comfortable.

GermanyDaily cleanup could be better (the breakfast table, towels, etc...). The stairs are quite steep but for us it was not a problem.
Wonderful location! The room was cosy and very nice, with a beautiful rooftops view from the window and very quiet at night. We loved the breakfast also, which was brought to the room. The room was perfectly clean when we arrived. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall we loved our stay!

United KingdomThere was a mix up with rooms when we arrived, however this was quickly resolved by the friendly staff. The stairs are a bit of a climb just inside the front door.
Location was quite central for us. Breakfast was really good although on the Sunday there was no one available to do breakfast. Clean and tidy but very basic but it was all we required for our stay.

United StatesBe aware of the stairs. It's a typical Dutch steep stair walkup from the front door to your room, but we really appreciated how helpful the staff was, and they offered to lift our luggage upstairs with the hook. If you are on the first level up by the breakfast room, it's only 1 flight of stairs. Not accessible for wheelchairs. If you are physically able, this is a great spot.
Hotel Prinsenhof Amsterdam went above and beyond to ensure we had a remarkable stay! This is a gem in a remodeled canal home, with so much charm and comfort. Basic but everything we needed. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and enjoyed 4 nights in an exceptional place. The breakfast is delicious and includes hot foods and baked goods, fruit and yogurt, cereal, coffee, juice, and more. The bed was super comfortable, the room had ample space, great bathroom too, the location is quiet but so close to public transport (Tram line 4), along with lovely canal walk to Magere Brug. To be on the Prinsengracht for 4 days was a dream come true! Walking distance to great local restaurants, Albert Heijn grocery, bars, and close enough to museums and parks. Warm and welcoming staff. We loved our time there. An excellent overall four nights at Hotel Prinsenhof! We hope to return again soon.

Israelfor us the last room was at the top floor and there is no elevator and the stairs are really steep so make sure it is not the last floor , also it will be really nice if the hotel bring some fridges so that people can buy food and store the food in the fridge.
the room was clean, and there is a canal view from the window so that was really nice.

The best part about this hotel is the location! On a quieter centrum of the Amsterdam canals but still extremely walkable to everything in the city!

CanadaAfter travelling around Europe for 3 weeks this was our most expensive stay by far, I think this mainly just speaks to the prices of the city but for a basic hotel it was quite expensive!
The location was perfect! Walking distance pretty much anywhere we wanted to go and there is also a tram stop right outside!! The room had everything we needed and breakfast was great.

United KingdomVery small and basic bathroom, tricky to move in. Like many Amsterdam hotels, crazy high prices. Probably the most I’ve ever paid for a room in forty years of travel and not up to par for that price.
Excellent central location yet quiet, overlooking canal. Very warm welcome, interested in guests. Room with a view. Very good value breakfast.
