How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It was a little out of the way and there were some sketchy places around the hotel.
The rooms were recently renovated so it was nice and clean. The beds were comfy and the amenities were fine. Breakfast was pretty good

No Toaster?
The renovation was very tasteful. A nice view of the Rose Gardens & Hauraki Gulf. Staff very friendly & obliging. Bed comfortable with a Big TV to round it out

The attitude of staff on checkin was alittle abrupt.
The upgrade to the rooms Including the (new bathroom. Fitout was fantastic and very timely. ALSO the wifi code worked this time. The staff on checkout were lovely and invited me back.

the only thing that we didn’t like was that we were able to hear everything that the people in the room next to us where doing e.g talking, snoring, moving around. we also had the people next to us try and open the door between the rooms while we were sleeping. maybe make those doors lockable.
it was a great location for what our plans were. it was very tidy and the beds were comfy. great that it had air con!

I had added another night but on following up found out it hadn't been entered which mean't had to check out and recheck in the second night into another room which discovered only had the one Queen bed not the twin doubles as booked.I ended up sleeping on the floor as was told a single trundle bed couldn't be provided.
The customer service team were great in particular the two young ladies on the pm shift.They were friendly and were most helpful in getting my son's clothing items left behind back to us in Hastings.

Due to the upgrades they are doing the building work and noise started at 8am. The windows should be upgraded to be double glazed to help with traffic noise.
Rose Park are doing significant updates to their rooms. We had an updated room which was lovely.

Needing better lighting and curtains need checking for lost eyehooks, and a bit of paint goes a long way with wash area to be updated. Just the little touches can go a long way
Room needs some attention, otherwise price and location was an absolute winner, with clean room.

I wasn’t very comfortable with bed however it was not big issue. I wish there was a microwave in the room. Very congested area.
Cleanliness was good. Good location. Great buffet breakfast. Many restaurants around. Lovely rose garden at the front. Lift available for luggage.

A bit close to the main road, keep hearing cars coming down. With our stay, the renovation for hotel rooms haven’t completed yet, so you can’t really have sleep in.
Room is very clean, love the new renovated bathroom.

Was there coffee in the room? I don't recall. Initially, I thought "This is not too special . . . . very basic room." BUT, it grew on me because of the staff's kindness, and the bed was so comfortable! The people working on the outside of the building were considerate too. By the time we left, I thought "This was a charming experience."
What made our stay the most valuable to us was the helpfulness and kindness of the staff. This included the front desk staff, the dining room staff. They let us go to the room early upon arrival which was great after a 14 hr flight. They also let us stay a little later as well when our cruise time was later. The cleaning staff was informative and we really appreciated their help as well. The park across the street was very lovely and great after the 14 hr. flight!

Bed is a little hard, and it's a shame that the nice bathroom didn't have an expelair.
Lovely room, nice facilities, clean and comfortable. Nice to have a coffee machine. Very handy to Spark arena.

Currently undergoing some renovation works, will be a little noisy if want to sleep in longer.

The pillows were soft and uncomfortable and the balcony couldn't accommodate 2 people to sit for coffee and enjoy the view because of the positioning of the air con unit
