Great location, spotlessly clean, multiple bathrooms and a great breakfast with homemade cakes and a superb host

There isn’t a space to dry clothes if it is raining, the area for hanging clothes to dry is outside which is great but if you’re drying off clothes that got wet in the rain and it continues to rain there’s nowhere to hang clothes.

The property was well placed in the centre or PD as well as being near to the free parkings so I could easily go out and explore the island. Martin the owner is amazing, it’s a passion project you can see, he varies the breakfast everyday and bakes fresh goods. The bathrooms and rooms are clean and spacious and the bed sheets and towels are provided free.

I recently had my first ever experience staying in a hostel, and Bruma Hostel set the bar incredibly high! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the wonderful host, Martins, who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere at Bruma Hostel is warm and inviting, creating a perfect blend of comfort and community. The facilities are top-notch, with clean and cozy rooms, well-maintained common areas, and all the amenities you could need. The location is ideal, offering easy access to local attractions and public transport. Martins truly went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. His friendly demeanor and willingness to help with anything I needed made a huge difference. He provided great recommendations for local dining and activities, and even organized some fun group events that allowed me to meet and connect with fellow travelers. Overall, my stay at Bruma Hostel was superb. The combination of excellent facilities, a welcoming atmosphere, and the exceptional hospitality from Martins made it an unforgettable experience. The place is very clean coming with great breakfast! I didn’t expect a full breakfast before arriving. As I stayed 4 nights, they also allowed me to use laundry facilities for free. Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed so far in this trip. Highly recommend

Everything was perfect!

It is one of the best hostels I have stayed in! Not only it's clean, it's spacious, it feels like home, and the owner is adorable (just 3 words: fresh homemade cake every morning!), but everything you always thought "would be nice if..." has already been thought and put there for you. A nice full kitchen? YES. A comfortable shelf and bag where to put your things while in bed (with curtains obviously)? YES. Washing machine and place to hang your clothes? YES. And so much more :)

The price was a bit more than the other accommodations that we stayed at during our trip in the Azores but given the location and the breakfast, along with the service, it was worth it.

Martins is an excellent, kind and helpful host. He gave us the name of a really great rental car company, and also offered us an affordable airport transfer for the plane to our next destination. We had asked for an early check in which he was also able to fulfill, which was really appreciated. The bedroom and shared spaces were clean, beds were comfortables, room was quiet considering where we were staying, the other guests were friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful! All in all, I cannot recommend this hostel enough. I look forward to visiting the island again and would absolutely stay with Martins again.

The hostel breakfast was wonderful! Martins worked so hard every day to prepare it with a smile. Martins was such a friendly and helpful host and even gave us a ride to the airport. Our room was perfect and the hostel was quiet and clean with free coffee and tea! I would definitley recommend people to stay here while in Ponta Delgado because it was a great value.

Martins was amazing! He exudes helpful and accommodating at every step. He does not let any language barrier get in the way of making sure you have everything you need. It is certainly on the higher end of a hostel and much more like a shared bed and breakfast. Location is ideal and I did not even rent a car to visit all of Ponta Delgada. Would love to stay again when I visit.

The common area is comfortable, but feels more like a place to eat and leave. It doesn't quite foster a social atmosphere for spending time there or meeting other people.

The staff / owner were really nice and helpful, and the place was very clean. Also, the location is super central.

The location was extremely good, because it was located close to the centre area (around 3 minutes) and close to restaurants or supermarkets. The room was great, much better than we expect! We had a great view from the balcony. Additionally, our host Sr.Martins was great and extremely helpful with advices on what to do. As well as, to provides us tips on tours and restaurants.

Great hostel with an excellent location. Martin, the owner, is very lovely and generous. He offers a nice and funky breakfast every morning, makes sure costumers have everything needed and even washed my clothes and drove me to the airport. The energy of the hostel is pretty awesome and it has a lovely terrace.

The guy at the front desk cooked a wonderful breakfast every morning. Helped carry my heavy luggage up the stairs and even put it in my room. The location was perfect, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

perfect place to stop. everything is clean, a reliable closet for things, many balconies, a calm family atmosphere. you can see that the owner did everything with love, the breakfast is amazing. I couldn't find a single reason I didn't like. the location is also convenient. the owner drove to the airport by the time of the plane. I recommend wholeheartedly
