Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United States- no parking, but its relatively easy to find street parking in town
I loooooved this hotel! Apparently it was only open less than a month when I stayed here. Everything is brand new, clean, and high quality. Wasn't noisy at all since there's no traffic surrounding it. Super comfortable beds and gorgeous bathroom. I loved that they use local artists and materials to highlight Azores. I liked how the breakfast is made-to-order and I stayed long enough to try everything. I had one of my better dinners of my trip in the restaurant as well. The staff was super attentive, gave me all the recommendations, and made sure i was having the best stay ever. I chatted up a few of them and they are sooooo nice. Also the pool is amazing! Never seen anything like it before. Really beautiful place to relax and zone out after adventuring all day.

CanadaAlthough there are lock boxes they are not bolted down and can be easily removed, so as result they are redundant. The spa pool area can be very slippery though I am not sure how that can be helped. Perhaps they could put down some rubber mats As one could easily fall. The massage treatment is too rushed in the feeling of the approach and the practitioner while she is very gracious, needs to be more present and engage in mindfulness practice, while working. Not all, and cannot be helped, but some of the rooms at the back face quite an ugly view.
The breakfast is excellent here, as most definitely are all the staff, And then also the decor, the design and layout, the art work, the bar and menu, the salt water spa pool and the location as well are fab. The enclosed garden is so lovely and there are windows looking out from the dining area and the spa pool as well. Gorgeous! The Bar is wonderful and the array of drinks available are very good and sophisticated. The wait staff perfect. The front desk lady whom greeted us was awesome and when we wanted to change to a bigger room the next day she swiftly accommodated us and we moved to a much bigger room facing the front with a much better view and we loved our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the place to everyone as it is a special place!

United StatesNot a single complaint, it was incredible
When booking our trip to Ponta Delgada and trying to decide on a hotel, we kept coming back to Nine Dots. We were hesitant because it was a new property (just opened in March 2024), so there were very few reviews to go off. Ultimately, we decided to go through with booking at Nine Dots and omg - I cannot recommend this place enough. To start, our flight was a red eye so we arrived in Ponta at 6:45 am. We picked up our car at the airport (booked through GoRentACar Sao Miguel, highly recommend) and because it was SO early, we weren't sure what to do. We decided to go right to the hotel and get our bearings and explore until we were able to check into our room. The front desk staff were some of the nicest people we met on the island. They immediately offered us breakfast (complimentary with your stay) and said they would get our room ready. We had the most incredible breakfast and by 9:30 am, we were in our room which was SO nice because we definitely needed to shower and change before starting our day. The location is unbeatable. Right on one of the central streets with all the restaurants and shops you could want around you. They have the cutest little outdoor patio, and every floor of the hotel has terraces and quaint areas to sit outside with drinks or a book. I seriously can't explain enough how beautifully curated everything is, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, or how amazing the food and drinks are. The complimentary breakfast is 11/10. Upon sitting, you're given the most delicious bread board with local jams, honey, and spreads. Between making your own omelet to a protein chia bowl, it exceeded my expectations. The salt water indoor heated pool was UNREAL. My boyfriend and I did extensive hiking everyday, so to come back to the hotel and have a cocktail followed by relaxing in the pool was the best way to relax.

The hotel is amazing! The best place we stayed at in Azores. The staff is very kind and friendly, the food at the restaurant is delicious, both breakfast and lunch. We loved the design a lot - minimalistic and modern. They also have a small gallery with paintings on each floor, which we enjoyed a lot.

United StatesThe hotel was absolutely beautiful, including the common areas, the spa (which guests have access to including the pool) and the rooms! The breakfasts were lovely, and it was great to have so many options and to be able to eat in a beautiful space. Perhaps most striking was the staff. We arrived a little later than our arrival time and there was a festival in the city. The nine dots staff called us to check in, and then told us to get as close to the hotel as we could with all the road blockings. They then found us (a few blocks away) and escorted us to the hotel. It was above and beyond.

United StatesAt first, I was hesitant booking this hotel and had a totally different place in mind but now I can surely say that Nine dots is a nine star hotel without any doubt! From the minute we arrived until we left, everything was absolutely exceptional: the facility itself ( rooms, restaurant, spa area), service and location.. This hotel is a hidden gem right in the center of Ponta Delgada!

SwitzerlandWe are having a hard time finding something that we were not happy with.
We loved the experience from the moment we stepped into building and were greeted by the lovely staff. We’ve felt taken care of and looked after when some challenges came up. These were solved swiftly and with a kind attitude. The interior design is spot on and great attention to detail has gone into it. The spa is lovely and offers a sanctuary away from the bustling streets. Many thanks for the lovely stay to the whole team. We’d choose this hotel again.

United StatesThe only downside to staying here is that that the hotel does not have its own parking area, you must use a public parking garage or fend for yourself on the tiny streets.
The breakfast was lovely, including a variety of breads, protein, and fresh fruit salad. The Staff was unbelievably nice and helpful, even helping us translate a hospital bill that I got while we were there.
