Coniston

Loved that the pub was co-located with the rooms. The staff were fabulous and it had a very comfortable feel all around. The food was delicious and some of the best we have had

The Yewdale Inn and Hotel Coniston Village is a situated in the centre of Coniston, within the Lake District National Park. Built of local stone and slate in 1896, the property was once part guest house, part bank.

Torver (Near Coniston)

Beautiful house in a lovely setting.The hosts are helpful and enjoyable to converse with the three dogs are gorgeous. All in all you really feel welcome here would highly recommend.
Torver (Near Coniston)
With incredible mountain views, this traditional, family-owned guest accommodation has a real log fire and wooden beams in its cosy bar and restaurant. Located less than 10 minutes’ drive from the quaint and pretty village of Coniston, The Wilson Arms offers free private parking.
Very clean and comfortable room. Great hotel and great breakfast. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and open to answering any questions about our stay. Would go again.
Ambleside (Near Coniston)
High Grassings lies in the heart of the Lake District with views of the surrounding fells. Wray Castle, an impressive castle owned by the National Trust is just 10 minutes' drive away and Tarn Hows is an 8-minute journey by car.
The main house has large terrace with seating area where you can sit and relax and take in the views of Esthwaite Water. Esthwaite Water is also a popular fishing venue.
Our stay at High Grassings, Lake District Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of breathtaking scenery, this charming B&B offered the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, providing personalized service that made us feel right at home. Each morning, we were greeted with a sumptuous breakfast that catered to all tastes, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The room was beautifully appointed, with attention to detail that ensured a luxurious and restful experience. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the views from our window were picturesque, offering a serene backdrop to our stay. The location was ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Lake District, with easy access to roads, trails and lakes. Tarn Hows was close by and simply quintessentially English countryside at its best! What truly set this B&B apart was the genuine care and hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable, providing insightful recommendations and thoughtful touches throughout our stay. David & Michelle May 2024.
Hawkshead (Near Coniston)
Situated in the rolling hills surrounding Esthwaite Water, the village of Hawkshead is home to The Queen’s Head Inn. This 17th Century inn has been awarded an AA 4-star rating for its varied menu, serving the finest local ingredients in a traditional country pub setting.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere. Nice choice of breakfast options. Meal in the restaurant was lovely.
Hawkshead (Near Coniston)

The convenience (walking distance) to the village and to all Lake District Attractions. Hawkshead is a lovely village, beautifully looked after, and a well kept secret as opposed to other Lake District villages or towns. People incredibly friendly and Mark and Emma wonderful hosts.
Little Langdale (Near Coniston)
Three Shires Inn is a family-run inn set in Little Langdale, in the heart of the Lake District National Park. This traditional Cumbrian slate-tiled property has free Wi-Fi, a bar and award-winning, home-cooked food.
Perfect location. Small but lovely room with everything we needed, comfy bed, nice bathroom etc. Excellent breakfast and evening meals. Friendly service. We will come again.
Sawrey (Near Coniston)
