Casas dos Carregais is situated in Carregais, 25 km from Proença a Nova and 35 km from Castelo Branco. Vila Velha de Ródão is 28 km from the property. We were very comfortable here in this quiet village. The beds are comfortable and the place was very clean. We all enjoyed exploring and hiking around, including our 12 and 16 year old kids. We devoured the daily fresh bread. Olga and Roy were helpful and friendly. We had a delicious meal at Casa Ti Augusta.

Mountain Whisper is a group of rustic houses that offers complete tranquillity and privacy. Entering this ancient xisto town with its steeps hills and adorable cobble stoned streets was incredible. Cars are parked at the entrance of the village, and we proceeded on foot for the next 100 meters to get to the room. It felt like traveling 100 years back into time, it was fantastic. The elevation of the location is pretty high, which means the views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. All you will hear here are birds chirping and the rustle of leaves. The staff is very welcoming and everyone made sure our room was tidy, and that we had everything we needed. The breakfast options are numerous and the quality was very good. Having access to a pool was refreshing in the midday heat. We really enjoyed our stay and we hope to visit again soon! We heard about this place through (instagram) @vivacoimbra

Really friendly and helpful staff, traditional breakfast and central location for local restaurants. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to others. Amazing service and breathtaking location. The staff is gentle and caring. Our dome was fabulous and roomy. The jacuzzi function on our hot tub wasn't working yet the staff arranged for an outside jacuzzi which was perfect to observe the night sky and relax outdoors protected from the cold weather.
