Candelas do Souto is a lovely converted farm house. It has lots of charm from the outside and is modern and clean inside. There are areas inside the property that show parts of the buildings history and old working life. There is a small but beautiful garden at the back of the property that is perfect for relaxing in.

Our host was amazing, friendly and generous with drink and food and friendship. I loved the sweet cherry tree and views of the vineyards.

Situated in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley. Gorgeous hotel situated by the river with incredible view of surrounding landscape. The hotel gave us a welcome champagne to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which is greatly appreciated. We had a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel in the heart of the Douro Valley.

This was our best day in Portugal. We love the facility and the staff. Awesome views. Rooms are very nice And comfortable. Angela gave us great tips on local Quintas and restaurants. It is one of the most peaceful places we have been and the view from our patio was so serene. Everything about the hotel is first class. The meals with wine pairings were outstanding and Beatrix presented a wonderful and informing wine tasting. A stay like this in the USA would have been over $1000 a night so this was a great value.
