Located directly at the shore of Lake Traun, Seegasthof Hois'n Wirt offers a private beach area and rooms with free Wi-Fi. We did arrive late and were still able to order proper dinner which we appreciated very much. One of us got a wonderful upgrade; yet we all enjoyed the quietness and beautiful surrounding very much! Located in Ebensee, Hotel Hochsteg Gütl is an ideal starting point for excursions to the historic villages Hallstatt and Bad Ischl. Absolutely everything. The location was stunning, the facilities were top notch, the service was personalised and impeccable. Our room (the family room) was straight out of an interior design magazine and the breakfast was great. We dined several times at the hotel restaurant which was adjacent to it and is also run by the family - and it was delicious. There was a big park with a trampoline and other games to keep the little one entertained and the roofed, heated pool was a big hit also. There was a lovely garden to have tea and cake in (home made cakes, coffee and tea were available from 2 to 4 pm at no extra cost) and also to read a good novel and lose yourself in the scent of the flowers and the sound of the feature fountain. The gentleman who runs it has high attention to detail and was very kind and attentive. We had to leave before the usual breakfast time so he got up one hour earlier to make a full breakfast just for us! He made sure our stay was excellent and we will definitely be coming back next year! Many a hotel owner/ hotel chain manager should visit and take notes on how to run a place to an absolute high standard.

Situated in Ebensee, the recently renovated Appartement Bergmann features accommodation 18 km from Kaiservilla and 37 km from Museum Hallstatt. Everything ok. Very good location. Very helpful and nice owner.

Just 1,000 metres from the Toscana Congress Centre and Seeschloss Palace, the Aktivhotel Wildschütz in Salzkammergut was renovated in 2015 and offers quiet rooms with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi and... very good self check in. excellent sauna and steam room with an outside area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved the wood, modern architecture mixed with classic mountain hut vibe.

Boutiquehotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen is located close the heart of the city of Gmunden, cross the Traun bridge with best lake view. This is a lovely hotel in a lovely location, a block from the lovely bridge over the Traun River and a few blocks from the beautiful town square. This hotel offers the chance to stay at an almost 500-year-old Gasthaus that has just been renovated to very contemporary standards and re-opened as a modern, cozy hotel. Everything inside is very modern and clean without being too sleek. The staff is extremely helpful. Christian and Danielle gave us a lot of great advice and went above-and-beyond with several favors and errands. We would love to come back to Gmunden and would send all our friends and families to this hotel. If you are in Gmunden, be sure to take the very pleasant walk along the west bank of the Traun River: just cross the bridge from the hotel and turn right/north and walk north along the river.
