On a recent trip from Cancale to Paris, we found ourselves in need of a place to rest after a long day of hiking and indulging in Cancale's famous oysters. It was late, and options for high-rated accommodations were few. However, we came across CHATEAU DU BOULAY MORIN, an old French-style chateau just a few kilometers from the highway, listed on Booking.com. The chateau is located in a serene rural area, tucked behind a long stone fence and vintage-style gates. We arrived late without prior notification, and with our internet data exhausted, we were anxious about whether the staff would still be available to check us in. To our relief, the gates swung open at the press of a button, welcoming us into a silent and magical retreat. The property is nestled within roughly 40 hectares of well-maintained forest and 3 hectares of beautifully manicured gardens. The quiet ambiance, paired with the charm of the chateau's exterior, immediately gave us a sense of calm and tranquility. We were warmly greeted by a receptionist who, despite our late arrival, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He even managed to arrange some food for us, knowing that we had missed our dinner. The interior of the chateau exudes a cozy, if somewhat outdated, charm, reminding more of a family home than a typical hotel, adding to the unique experience. In the morning, we learned that the property is managed by the young children of the owners. The elder, a former lawyer, shared the captivating history of the chateau and their family as they served us a delicious breakfast. The personal touch and stories made us feel like we were guests in a family home rather than customers in a hotel, giving our stay an intimate and friendly atmosphere. This quaint chateau may not boast the glitz and glamour of a typical 4 or 5-star hotel, but it offers a uniquely charming experience that leaves an indelible mark on your memory.

The key exchange was made by box with code in our case, which was very practical and easy. We had a great time and definitely recommend!

Die in Dives-sur-Mer gelegene Unterkunft Demeure de Manneville - SPA - 1Km des plages de Cabourg ist 2,2 km von Strand Plage Ecole de Voile und 2,4 km von Central Beach entfernt. Wir fanden die Lage für unsere Bedürfnisse (Fahrten in die umliegenden Badeorte) sehr günstig. Ein schönes älteres Gebäude, modern renoviert und eingerichtet, sehr ansprechend, allerdings recht hellhörig. Das Zimmer war hell, schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, das Bad, obwohl im Zimmer, sehr schön und mit Vorhängen abgetrennt. Ruhige Lage zum Garten hin. Sehr gute Betten, gutes Frühstück, das bei schönen Wetter im Garten serviert werden kann. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt wäre es schön, im Zimmer auch über eine Sitzecke zu verfügen. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Lovely host who met us as we arrived and showed us to our room and explained breakfast. The room was very comfortable and the facilities great.
