oh my God, how to start, I could say that Zhangjiajie was one of the best place I ever been. I am a nature lover, and if you are like me, there is a AMAZING place to be, all the hiking that I've done there worthy a lot. many breathtaking views.
A must see place in China! So much to do everyday in the park or you can just relax and enjoy the fresh air. Dos: The cable car to the top peak is well worth it, half the peak is empty if you want some great views and photos as most of the crowd is at the five fingers. Don'ts: Glass elevator, not worth in my opinion as it's a short ride up and not many look out spots at the top.
You should plan to stay a minimum of 5 days in Zhangjiajie. Day 1 should be spent going to Tianmen Mountain - stay in the Hamptons by Hilton Hotel right across the street from the cable car ticket. Day 2 go to the east side of the park and stay at least 2 nights. One day can be spent visiting the Glass Bridge, Grand Canyon, and if time the cave. Day 3 go to the northeastern side of Zhangjiajie Park. Take the bus to the 2nd stop and then hike up (don't take the little train unless you want to) and then continue about 4 km up stairs to the top of the mountain. Come down by cable car and then bus back to the east gate entrance. Day 4 can be spent bussing and hiking 7.5 km along the river inside the park to the western side. Stay the night just outside the park on the western gate. Day 5 can be spent visiting the north western portion of the park by bus, cable car and hiking down to the river (avoid the elevator if possible) and then hike along the river back out of the park. Day 6 visit the southern portion of the park by taking the trail to the yellow village in the mountain. Hike up or cable car, and then hike down or cable car down.
I just went ot Zhangjiajie Greate Canyon and buy Type A Walk on the glass brigde + VR + Zipline Before I going out the building to Glassbridge I book ticket for Bungee Jump 260m. It's the highest bungee point in the world now (20/1/2024) amazing expirence of mind. I can see around the canyon, VR is woderful , Zipline is Safe and bueatiful sight seeing, then I slide my body down to lower floor, it was fun like I'm back to be teenage. there is many activities. but if you can walk out after 17:00 you should book taxi to pick up you back to downtown. Tianmen Mountain was bueatiful , but last time was heavy snow so I can't see the view from top of the mountain. in my 3rd time to travel this place. March - April is the best time to visit.
the weather just nice. have at least 2 Muslim restaurants nearby just walking around there or take a taxi most of them cant speak English even a little. to enter all the entrance need spend more extra money that I couldn't the hotel host so helpful and nice..
Very nice landscape - impressive mountains - Tian Shan and the park. Verry Chinese organization for millions of tourists. Limited space for individual "advanture". I intendet to cycle to the Tian Shan mountain, but this was not permitted and secured by a guard. Nevertheless a interesting place.
