Boa Ventura (1.3 miles from Aristides Pereira International Airport)
Luxury Beach Villa, Praia de Chaves, Boa Vista provides beachfront accommodations in Boa Ventura. Holiday dream. If you want to relax, if you want to hear the waves, if you want to have the beach as your garden, if you want to watch the sunset from your chair, this is the place to be. We stayed in a double room of the villa. Everything was perfect. The room is cared after, with taste. Large and comfortable bed, 2m closet with plenty of hangers, big bathroom with nice shower and, there is a good pressure on the water – not something you find everywhere. Maybe it is not the most important thing, but the towels are something you want to embrace and don’t let go. The air conditioning is as silent as is not turned on. The terrace is nice and big – table, chairs, couch – and, in front of the terrace in the sand, there are sunbeds with nice mattresses. You have as well towels for the sun beds. Breakfast is served on the terrace, you pick the time 😊. Both, owners and Michaella, are amazing people. They helped with everything we needed. Taxi, places to go, car rental, places to eat, things to do. We cannot thank you enough and hope to come back to this paradise location.

Cabeçadas (1.4 miles from Aristides Pereira International Airport)
Just a few steps from Praia de Chaves and 1.1 miles from Praia da Boca de Salina, Vila Mare - Praia de Chaves frontline features accommodations in Cabeçadas, with a garden and a bar. Everything was beyond our expectation. From arrival to departure, this was the most relaxed & perfect holiday i have been on. We were greeted at the airport by the free transfer and greeted by Henning at the villa with the keys and a tour around the property. It was our honeymoon and we were presented with drinks on ice and romantic decorations. The fridge was stocked with beers, soft drinks and milk. The pantry was stocked with all cleaning essentials including a washing machine. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils you need, condiments, coffee & sugar. I enjoyed using the coffee machine every morning with views of the beach. The aircon was in every room and a lovely bonus! All furniture was comfy and plentiful. The large bath with sea views was very relaxing. You literally didn't need anything here apart from food. We went to the the Italian supermarket in Sal Rei to stock up breakfast and lunch items. We went to the cafe on the beach for dinner which was very nice and only a 15 minute walk up the beach to the right. We also went into Sal Rei a few times to try various restaurants, every single one provided excellent food. We did not have 1 bad meal during our whole stay. Henning was very helpful and provided us with restaurant recommendations & taxi numbers. He also went out of his way to bring me pain killers when i was unable to walk to the shop due to foot pain. We went on a number of excursions including whale watching, snorkelling and quad biking. I suggest you use the leaflets obtained at the airport and shop around for the best price. The views, accessibility and distance to the beach were excellent. The beach is slightly rocky in from the villa however just a couple of meters in either direction, you can swim freely & the water is so warm! Waves can get a bit big however it just adds to the fun. Plenty of sun loungers at the property too and was nice to relax in the beautiful garden when not on the beach.

-It's a small town where you will soon feel like you know half of the people. You can get anywhere on foot, however there are always taxis aroud, if you get tired. -If you're a solo traveller, I highly recommend you to go Wind Club where there are cool people hanging out at all times. -The best food I've had on the island is in the restaurant Sodade: delicious food, very friendly service (which is not the standard on the island) and beautiful interior. -We also did a half-day tour, starting at the Museo dos Naufragos (Shipwreck Museum) which I would highly recommend if you want to find out about the island's history, continuing then to the shipwreck, Viana desert and the small town Rabil.
Sal Rei is a small, developing town that is really hoping to expand and attract more visitors. The locals were friendly and we felt safe walking everywhere, even at night. There is construction going on everywhere from the town square to housing on the outskirts. It was about a 30 minute walk from one side of town to the other, and taxis were readily available. Roads are cobblestone and/or dirt, so sturdy shoes are a good idea. Cash is recommended, as there are still many restaurants and shops that do no accept cards. It's a good idea to bring Euros with you, as the ATMs do not always have money (Escudos) available. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded, but can be quite windy. The serra at Té Manché was excellent, as was the pizza at Ristorante Pizzeria O Gato & A Raposa.
Sal Rei is small and the locals are very nice and sympathetic. The local language is Portuguese but you always gonna found someone that speaks English. In the center you can found cellphone chip, gas station, supermarket, bakery, simple but good! For those who wants to Kitesurf, Morabeza beach is the point, the wind is offshore and gusty, but most of the kite schools they have a little boat that can help you to come back to the beach, rescue your board, etc.
Perfect place to relax if you like a beach destination. In the island there are plenty of really nice white sand beaches completely empty. Very calm place. I would not recommend it though if you are looking for a party place, they have a few bars but not many people around. Locals are lovely and food is great. Good for a relaxing holidays but I would not stay more than a week as there is not much to do around.
Sal Rei, although the capital of Boa Vista is small and the people are friendly. It is easily posible to walk around Sal Rei in an hour. Several beach bars in the area where you can just chill. Everything is very relaxed.
A lovely little town of exceptionally friendly folk. The vibe was relaxed, we all felt safe, even travelling with young kids, and it was nice to get away from our city life. People really welcomed us and we could see that it was a genuine interest towards us which made all the difference. The beach is outstanding, very clean, unspoiled and peaceful and goes on for miles. The food was beautifully seasoned everywhere we went and everyone gave us a smile. Beautiful place.
