We stayed in the two-bed room bed and breakfast, and it was superb. Sara is a fantastic cook, the home is beautifully decorated, and the location is really great. We were able to see so much and still be 'home' to relax before bed. Achalochan House has been the best stay on our 21 day journey.

We arrived and quickly realized that the apartments are adjacent to the lambing barn and while we were there at least 10+ lambs were born. Our stay included chatting up the ranch hand, watching a lamb be born, enjoy the espresso machine and stunning views. The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Would love to come back and stay longer.

The location is incredible, looking out at Harris and north Uist. The cabin is equipped with everything you could need, it is so calming. We stayed at the start of feb2024, Arriving in a gale and rain lashing down, yet once inside, we felt perfectly safe thanks to how well it's been constructed. There's central heating inside so we could have it at a temperature that suits us. Kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed, including oil,salt, pepper and sugar. Bathroom was lovely, just the right size with a fantastic shower. Bed was comfortable and perfect for gazing out in the evening. If you like your wildlife there are some hares that dot around the place, sheep and a bay. Night time is incredible, with no lights, take a torch if you need anything from your car, but look up at the milkyway. I forgot my camera however on a camera phone you still captured 100s and 1000s of stars. Parking is right by the cabin, Jenny and Roland are absolutely lovely, Roland helped me with our itinerary for where to go and helped avoid a potential disastrous journey home via the ferry in checking on times. Shame I can't rate more than 10 as it was exactly what we needed and more than what we were expecting. The accommodation is non-smoking. The view and location was perfect. The bed was comfortable and cozy, the pod had everything we needed. The pod was very clean and the wifi was very good. The sheep and wildlife around the property was fantastic.

I really appreciated the super comfy bed and the thoughtful details like the full length mirror on the bathroom door or the air purifier or that all the controls can be accessed from bed. Even better, the people who run it are kind and patient and helpful, they gave me great advice and I was very grateful for their help after I lost my wallet.

The nearest airport is Benbecula Airport, 102 km from the apartment. Quick response from our host Andrew. Easy check in. The place is very clean, neat and cozy for 4 of us. We have everything we need. The kitchen is well equipped and the washing machine is useful. The places are walking distance to the town center and the main attractions are not far by driving. The only thing we are not in control of is the weather...it has been raining daily.
