This hotel is authentic, our triple room had flair and was overlooking the yard. The couple taking care of us was very warm and accommodating, especially with the meals, as it was one vegetarian person in the family. We stood 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The food was every day different and plenty. The price for the meals is different, it depends if it is vegetarian, it contains cheese, or fish or meat. Lake Titicaca is a flight of stairs away an there is a nice beach and clear water to take a dip (water temperature 10-12 degree). There are nice walks on the hills nearby to viewpoints and small ruins.

I knew from the reviews this place would be charming, hospitable and unique and it was even better than I expected. This place has a special place in my heart, the family that lives here is beautiful ❤ We dined at their family restaraunt twice and the trout is wonderful, fresh from their lake and the meals are carefully prepared by the entire family. We had mashed potatoes with fried trout which was delicious for 20sol. The fresh juice at breakfast was amazing too!! This is one of the most interesting places I've ever stayed at and I highly recommend it. You will have to do without modern facilities like WiFi or a heater but it is absolutely worth it. It is warm enough with all the blankets and the hot shower does get very hot. My partner and i had a very deep sleep, its nice and quiet on the Island and the bed is cosy. Bring thermal clothes and a raincoat. Our host was so helpful and sweet too, making sure we were OK and constantly available to pick us up on his boat when we were in the city of Puno, when I'm sure he is a busy man with lots to maintain on his reed island. I was warmly greeted on arrival by the kind lady at reception and shown to my room. The room was much larger than expected, very clean and really good value for money. I had an early boat trip booked for the next morning and they offered to prepare breakfast earlier for me. It’s the little things like this that really go along way when you are travelling. The property is a short walk away from the lake and the main square so perfect location to see/do everything you need to while in Puno.
