Everything. The family hosts, the quiet and gorgeous location, the friendly and hilarious neighbors, the easily rented motorbike, the snuggly kitten, the delicious food and food and more food, the huge bed and perfect room, the opportunity to have a real experience with real Vietnamese with no touristy nonsense. After Hanoi, this was a perfect place to settle for 3 nights. I added an extra because I felt so at home. You can sense Phuong and her husband truly are geniune and caring people. I loved it.

The host, Hung, seems a bit rough at the beginning but he is actually extremely nice and fun when you manage to steal a smile from him! He and his wife were very helpful and kind, and they make the hotel feel a very cozy, family environment. The room and the whole place was spotless clean and in an area that we totally loved: calm, green and at the foot of the mountain. The hotel is, indeed, slightly off the main street in the bay (only 10 mins walking) but we loved it that way and would go back there. Breakfast is very simple (tea/coffee and a sandwich with an omelette and tomatoes), but for what you pay it is already incredible. Hung can also help you with tours, bus tickets and motorbike rental.

I liked how welcoming and friendly all family members were. I was picked up at the bus station, they explained me everything in the room, organized a boat tour and my bus to Ninh Binh. Also I could buy water from them and rent a motorbike. When I got back from dinner I always got tea and some snacks and one of the boys taught me how to use the electric skateboard and we had a light sword fight :D I felt really like home. They also have a friendly dog called Dola. Also the breakfast is included and served at any time you want.
