The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

With sea views, this accommodation provides a balcony. amazing Swahili house over 3 floors. comfortable for 5/6 people in 3 rooms with more beds in open areas. absolutely stunning place could have spent longer there. we organised for the chef to buy some groceries and cook us breakfast which worked really well.

I loved the comfortable beds with good mosquito nets. More so, the hotel is very beautiful with Swahili architectural designs and furniture. During our stay, the staff were very kind and the Swahili breakfast was delicious. Jivanjee was so helpful in linking us to affordable services such as dhow rides and helped us in anything we needed.

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Banana House and Wellness Center is located in Shela village, Lamu 1.7 mi from Gallery Baraka. The property is set 1.7 mi from Lamu Fort. The staff was INCREDIBLE. I felt like every single person was going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. They were able to arrange a PCR test, change money, accomodate meals and arrange activities. The yoga classes were wonderful and appropriate for the heat, the food was excellent. I could go on and on about how amazing my stay was.

Authentic Swahili style villa Milele House offers accommodations in Lamu, a 4-minute walk from Gallery Baraka and 600 yards from Riyadha Mosque. Guests are welcome to go for a swim in the private... This villa was gorgeous, in the historic Swahili style of Lamu. We had the loveliest time here. The location is relatively quiet though you are in the middle of town - we walked everywhere easily. There is also good Wi-Fi which was great for us as we were working remotely on some of the days. The rooftop has a lovely breeze and sitting area where the Wi-Fi reaches. There is also a very nice sitting area around the small pool. Jamhuri, who welcomed us on arrival, was friendly and easy to communicate with. With enjoyed every moment of our stay and I would definitely return again.
