This is a hidden gem in heart of Flateyri. We spent there a romantic New Years Eve and we were more than amazed by this beautful experience. It is a family run bookstore/accommodation business for decades with nicely preserved antique interior. Host gave us a quick tour in the building. Kitchen was full of kitchenware, spices, sweets and food for breakfast. Lots of books, boardgames, guitar to play and so on. This is one of 2 best places in Vestfirdir for a romantic stay.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly staff. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile made me feel instantly at home. The personal touch and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of my stay, making it a truly memorable one. The guest house itself is a marvel. The traditional Icelandic architecture blends seamlessly with modern amenities, creating a perfect balance between authenticity and comfort. The tractor theme and the story behind in (including the cowshed) are a highlight! The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and nearby coastline from my room were simply awe-inspiring. The breakfast, featuring a delightful array of local and homemade delicacies, was a true feast for the taste buds. (Especially the homeade jam!) The use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients added an extra touch of authenticity to the dining experience, making it a perfect start to the day. Beyond the physical aspects of the guest house, the staff's extensive knowledge of the local area and their genuine passion for sharing Iceland's rich history and culture truly sets Drangar Guest House apart. Their recommendations for nearby attractions, hidden gems, and off-the-beaten-path experiences allowed me and my husband to explore Iceland in a truly authentic way, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We would love to back in the winter!

Snacks, coffee, tea, milk etc... are free.. wonderful. Also the location is nearby to mini market, fuel pumps, electric csr charger and main road. Got 3 free parking lot inside the premises . Highly recommended to stay
