Like other reviews for Mixtepek the rooms are clean and what you would expect for a hostel. What makes this hostal standout is the hands on approach of the owners Ovi and Daysi. They will help you with any tours, rentals or travel plans. Alonso is always around to assist with any questions you may have if Ovi is not there. In our case, we were injured in an accident and Ovi and Daysi came and picked us up when we were released from the hospital. Not only that, there were no other taxis available, so he drove us to our next destination in Nahuizalco. They are truly amazing people, we are so grateful for their kindness and generosity..

As soon as you open the front door into the courtyard you are welcomed into a beautiful private garden with out door seating. We absolutely loved staying here and wish we could have extended our stay, the location was great and the staff were very hospitable and the rooms were very clean.

Beautiful apt with many details to make the name worth it. Clean and comfortable bed. Close to center of the city and walkable distance to many small restaurants and bars.

Staff was helpful, kind and attentive. Beautiful garden and courtyard. Although this was the first town where we found overall folks to be unwelcoming, this hostel was a little ray of sunshine and welcoming.

Friendly staff. Perfectly clean and maintained. Really good value for money. It is a basic hostel but everything worked fine (shower is set up with buckets when water goes off, which didn't bother me but just heads up, and small kitchen with no fridge but they offered to get us ice to keep stuff cool). The private room we had was spacious and comfortable and at the back of the hostel so quiet. The dorm is at the front of the hostel so might be loud with the road and metal door opening and closing. Location is good. There is no sign for the hostel but we found it ok. Follow Google maps, it's a pink building.
