The host made us feeling like home. She is extremely welcoming, prepares amazing breakfast, coffee and house-made lemonade in-between. I can definitely recommend the offered tour to the Tatacoa desert. They also organized a collectivo back to neiva for us.

Biohotel tatacoa Qji is set in Villavieja and has a pool with a view and garden views. There is an in-house restaurant and free private parking. This is probably my top favorite place to stay in all of my Booking accommodations! The hotel owner was super friendly and attentive to our needs. He helped us arrange transportation to and from the hotel. He even offered us an extra cabin with a really good view (please see the picture attached) at no additional cost. I could see the stars just a few walk away from my bed :), which was amazing. The sunrise view and sunset view are also amazing if there isn't too much cloud. The food was top notch. Make sure you try the pizza margherita if you're a pizza fan or the Poke bowl :D. All the cooking is done by the hotel owner. There is also a natural pool that you can swim in.

Like all the other reviews have already mentioned, Sandra is amazing. She was super helpful storing my luggage twice while I was there. Anything she could help with she did. Her breakfast is amazing and made with fresh local bread and produce (she invited me to join her buying the ingredients for breakfast around town), she set up a van to pick me up from the hostel and drive me back to Neiva, and she took her time to sit down and chat with me over coffee even though my Spanish is horrible! The hostel is literally two blocks from the town center and from there you can catch a tuk tuk to the dessert. All the beds are full size with multiple pillows. She is also friends with the local guides if you'd prefer to do a tour!

A recently renovated guest house, LUNA del DESIERTO TATACOA offers accommodation in Villavieja. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The owners of the hostal are very kind and friendly. They prepared breakfast for us at 5:30 o'clock just because we wanted to leave at 6:00 in the desert. It was very clean in the rooms and in the bathrooms.

It has a great bed, amazing bathroom, a kitchen, a TV, air conditioning, and a laundry machine. There is a good, local restaurant almost next door where you can eat, or you can go into town.

To the center where are shops and restaurants is few minutes.
