We appreciated the super location and very friendly and helpful staff. A welcoming gift was great (a bottle of Madera and a traditional honey cake)!Many thanks to Sonia!!! A brilliant professional and an amazing girl, she gave us useful advice and guidance. Very comfortable and clean. Very good and diversified breakfast. We highly recommend it! Rent a car to explore the island and try to go on all the tours that Sonia recommends)) Good luck!

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Everything! This place is beautiful, peacefull, quiet at night. It is spotless clean. I would describe it as luxury rural tourism at its best. The location is great, you could sit by the pool all day and look at the mountains and bananas. Its a good position in almost the centre of the island for exploring. Good restaurants and one levada with tunnels around also. And finally, ladies who work there are awesome. They do an amazing job and make you feel like at home. They helped us with everything and for us they made this stay completely fantastic. I travel a lot and this was my top three stay ever. Thank you! P.s. breakfast was abundand and top notch with local food and beds are super comfy

1.9 km from Almirante Reis Beach, Atlântico Azul is a recently renovated property set in Funchal and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. I liked everything, it was clean and cossy apartment, in the good position.

200 metres from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools in Porto Moniz, Studios by Aqua Natura Hotels features accommodation with access to a sauna and hot tub. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Welcoming drinks at the arrival, sparkling wine at the room. Spacious room with huge bed and even bigger pillows. Free access to the natural pools. As pools were too cold for us, we enjoyed the jacuzzi zone on the hotel roof. Breakfast was nice, with many fruit options and a nice view. Good value for money.

Casal da Penha Apartments offers accommodation within 600 metres of the centre of Funchal, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with a microwave, a toaster and a fridge. Everything. Clean and spacious apartment in a very nice and not very crowded location. Maikel was simply the most amazing host ever, helping us with everything we needed and always keeping a table ready for us in his restaurant (which served delicious food and all the staff was super friendly and nice) :)

Situated within 200 metres of Sao Roque Beach and 300 metres of Banda d'Alem Beach, Fort Bay Suite Apartments features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Machico. A super location for us, very close to the beach but also easy access to walks and hills. Apartment was in good order and very comfortable. Jackie was a super host making sure we were happy and even prepared a valentines surprise for us. We will definitely return next year

Offering a terrace and city view, Alexia Room is set in Funchal, 1.7 km from Marina do Funchal and 15 km from Girao Cape. Hostess was friendly & provided a variety of activities & restaurants in Funchal. Her suite was very clean & comfortable, beautiful bed linens/pillows along with a microwave& coffee maker. Alexia room was a perfect for a short stay & the neighbourhood was easy to navigate once you got used to the hills of Funchal. Great place for solo travellers.

Situated in Funchal, 1.3 km from Almirante Reis Beach and 300 metres from the centre, Social Lodge - Happiness features air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a terrace. Everything was perfect. The location is a few minutes away from the center. In the apartment you can find everything you need and there is a lot of space. The host is very friendly and helped me with everything I wanted to know and needed. I totally recommend it with all my heart. There is no private parking but you can let the car on the streets (there are some rules, here I asked the host and I received all the information I needed) or there is a parking place close to the apartment (4.5 euro per day).
