Offering free WiFi, Casa Marbella is situated in Tortuguero. The property is located 600 metres from Tortuguero National Park. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers.

At the hostel, each room is equipped with a wardrobe. With a private bathroom, some of Casa Marbella's triple and quadruple rooms also have views of the river.

Casa Marbella was clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal! The front of Casa Marbella is on the main pedestrian street (no cars) a 10-minute walk from the National Park entrance. The back of the hotel is directly on the water with a very large, covered porch where guests eat breakfast in the morning and watch birds and river boat traffic all hours. Water taxis can pick up and drop you off directly at the hotel's dock, so there is no need to carry luggage from the public dock 2 blocks away. Best of all, Casa Marbella has its own wildlife guide, Luis, whose family has lived on Tortuguero for several generations. Luis is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about nature and speaks English. Luis starts his guided 6pm night animal walks and 5:30am morning canal boat tours of the National Park at the hotel porch/dock. This eliminates stress. You can register for Luis's guided activities at the hotel reception desk, then sit in porch chairs looking at the water while waiting for the tour to begin. I took my family (including 87-year old Mom) on 2 night walks and 2 canal explorations with Luis while staying at Casa Marbella in early February, 2024. The group sizes were pleasantly small, with 3-6 participants in the night walks and a maximum of 10 people on his canal boat. I recommend Casa Marbella very highly!

Each rustic room here features wooden décor and comes equipped with a seating area and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. They also include a private balcony with a hammock and rocking chairs.

The location is gorgeous! Right next to the beach (which isn’t meant for swimming) and a 20 minute walk into the small village. It was Turtle season and we baby sea turtles on our morning walk and at night you can take a guid tour to see the turtles coming onto land to lay there eggs. The beach is closed between 6pm and 6am to protect the turtles. Take note that getting to Tortuguero you need to take a water taxi that leaves from La Panova (large parking area) and the last one leaves at around 4pm. We paid a bit extra (€15 per person in total) to have the watertaxi drop us off at the Mawamba Lodge. We were traveling end of September and the river water was really low so it took almost 3 hours to get to the Lodge but otherwise it is about 1 hour. But we really didn’t mind cause the boat trip is really unique and goes right through the jungle of Tortuguero.

More animals than I have ever seen and beautiful rooms. All of the activities were a blast especially the hike where we saw tons of birds and monkeys. The guides were super nice and everything -- food, transportation, excursions -- was really really well organized and convenient. The food was also great, and every meal was different. We WILL stay here again

Looking for a cabin?

For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.

Set in extensive and beautifully maintained gardens, the accommodation is in basic cabins. The location on the river is amazing and having the Caribbean Sea on the other side of the property is an added bonus. The adult pool was sublime, and the children’s pool looked great too. The bars and the restaurant were great, staff very nice.

Magical location between the river and the ocean. The huts are basic, but have all that we needed and were clean and a great value for money. The host (Willis) is an amazing, friendly and inviting guy. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the place.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of the water. Everything was very clean and the design of the whole place is just great! The staff was extremely nice and helpful as well. They even helped us to organize a private shuttle as we were too late for the public boats to Tortuguerro. We definitely recommend staying here, such a beautiful location!
