The place felt full of animal life. The sloth tour was incredible and the walk around the garden in the evening was perfect! The room was good, the view of the volcano was great. Hotel Boutique Casa Del Rio ligt in Fortuna, op 4,1 km van La Fortuna-waterval en 6,3 km van Kalambu Hot Springs Water Park. Tropical surroundings and rushing river sounds are gorgeous. The staff are thoughtful and attentive…top notch! A wonderful experience.

Super goede locatie om veel te ondernemen rondom La Fortuna. Fijn dat je niet in de chaos van La Fortuna zelf zit. Prachtige bungalow, mooie ruime badkamer en het werd iedere dag schoongemaakt. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding uitstekend. Aardig personeel wat een heerlijk ontbijtje komt brengen sochtends. Tip: het restaurant El Chante Verde zit op loopafstand van de bungalow en is erg gezellig/lekker. Zeker reserveren, want bij ons zat het beide dagen (vrijdag&zaterdag) vol!

Chalets Silencio del Bosque is gelegen in Fortuna in de regio Alajuela, op 10 km van La Fortuna-waterval en biedt gratis WiFi, een barbecue, een tuin en gratis privéparkeren. The stuff was super friendly and prepared the best casado we had during our trip to costa rica (have to try the homemade chilie sauce). Also unexpectedly good was the included free frog spotting tour. Even though the chalets were rather tiny they felt spacious and were indeed very private. This is definitely no 5-Star Hotel but as best as eco-friendly individual tourism could get.

Cabañas Sueños del Arenal ligt in Fortuna, op 5,7 km van La Fortuna-waterval en 7,8 km van Kalambu Hot Springs Water Park. The property was perfect for us as a couple. Close to La Fortuna and far enough away that you were out of the busyness. The kitchen was stocked well enough to make simple meals. King bed was comfortable. The view of Arenal Volcano was amazing when it wasn’t too cloudy. The patio was sheltered from the rain so you could still enjoy coffee outside in the morning. Property felt secure with remote control opening and closing.

Cecropia Ecolodge is gelegen in Fortuna, op 31 km van La Fortuna-waterval en 34 km van Kalambu Hot Springs Water Park. Everything! Frog walk! 6000 trees planted! They're warmth and flexibility and kindness.

We loved having breakfast while watching the colibris. During the evening we had a firefly show and the visit of the biggest toad.

Additionally, Ronald at the reception gave us recommendations regarding main attractions in the area with allowed us to make good choices.
