Probably the first place where we stayed where the reality exceeds the property photos. This is a gem! Beautiful, tastefully restored little house in a quiet remote village which is really close to Heraklion by car, just in 10 minutes you suddenly find yourself in a different world than the touristy seashore, a piece of traditional, rural Crete. But be aware, you do need a car - which is cheap to rent in Crete anyway. The owners left some tasty local products for us (honey, butter, marmalade, some bakery product, olive oil, even raki!) so we didn't have to care about the first breakfast. There is a place to park just in front of the house which is very convenient. (Don't be shy on the narrow streets that leads there, the car will fit).

Villa Strata was an amazing stay, super clean and fully equipped. We stayed there for one night and immediately fell in love with the place, the house, the village and the locals. Michalis was an excellent host, always available for help and recommendations and he made us feel at home. Can't wait to come back!

Flamingo color valey house ligger i Palekastron, 500 m fra Maridati Strand og mindre end 1 km fra Kouremenos Strand. Der er have og udsigt til haven. Amazing stay and fantastic location! Costas is a very warm and helpful host. The house is located in an olive grove a few 100 meters from the calm beach of Maridati (and 1 min from the Maridatis restaurant) where you can go snorkeling as there are a lot of fish! The house is spacious and comfortable, it has a small terrace with a view of the surrounding. You will see nothing except the occasional sheep, rabbit or 'house' cat which we befriended. If you enjoy a quiet and totally relaxing stay, very close to an amazing and less known beach with few people and great swimming in cristal clear and calm waters, then don't hesitate. On top of that you have a taverna close by with amazing hosts (Eleni and Manolis) and great food. We will be back. Thank you, Costas, for the warm welcome and your kindness!

Loved everything about this place. I will definitely go again! Keypad entry allowed me to arrive on my schedule. Location is great and the view is spectacular. I was able to find street parking close without an issue but I could see how that might be a problem depending on the time of day or season. For reference, I stayed in late July.

Vores familie på seks - forældre, børn (3 og 7 år) og bedsteforældre blev modtaget med stor hjertelighed og venlighed på denne lille familiedrevne virksomhed. den Vores ophold varede 10 overnatninger i juli, hvor vi havde to lejligheder ud af de fem, Mikro Livadi Living består af. Værterne var overstrømmende imødekommende, generøse og gjorde en kæmpe indsats for at opfylde alle vores ønsker til specielt vegansk, velsmagende mad. Vi fik bl.a. serveret lækre kretensiske specialiteter tilberedt af grøntsager og frugt fra stedets eget økologiske landbrug, såsom pandekager med fennikeltop høstet i april og nedfrosset til sommerens brug og friskplukkede friterede zucchiniblomster. Stedet ligger kort fra en dejlig strand op til hovedvejen mellem Chania og Rethymnon, men er alligevel tilbagetrukket fra turiststrømmen og fredeligt lige med undtagelse af cicadesang ;) Saltvandspoolen er helt unik med udsigt til bjergene. Anbefales varmt til familier med børn og til alle, der gerne vil sove roligt om natten og spise stille og roligt i en dejlig restaurant.

My recent stay at this charming wooden cottage nestled in the tranquil Cretan countryside was nothing short of idyllic. Set away from the hustle and bustle of city life and the usual tourist spots, it offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The attractions and the sea are conveniently reachable, ensuring that you are not too isolated from the vibrant local life. The cottage itself, though compact, exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an exceptionally cozy place to live. Each morning and evening, I had the pleasure of dining outdoors in the garden, enjoying meals while gazing out at the rolling hills dotted with olive groves and the distant sea—pure bliss. The outdoor fire pit added a rustic touch to my evenings, perfect for grilling local produce under the starlit sky. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the alfresco cold-water shower, which provided a refreshing and almost ethereal experience under the moon's glow. The hosts were incredibly hospitable, eager to share their knowledge of the area and point out hidden gems that enhanced my visit.
