Sinharaja Serenity is gelegen in Deniyaya met uitzicht op de stad en heeft een restaurant, een gedeelde keuken, bar, tuin, terras en speeltuin. Er is gratis WiFi. O wat is het hier mooi. Het huis staat midden tussen de rijstvelden op een heuvel, waardoor er vaak een verkoelende bries waait. De kamer is eenvoudig maar prima. Op loopafstand van het Sinharaja Park. Ze bieden een goede gids aan, wij hadden Inoka, de beste om bijzondere dieren te vinden. Ook de prijs was heel netjes. En ook het eten, zowel ontbijt als diner waren uitstekend. We hadden graag langer gebleven.

Sinharaja Kurulu Ella Eco Resort in Deniyaya biedt accommodatie met uitzicht op de bergen, een tuin, een terras, een restaurant en watersportfaciliteiten. Als je wil wandelen in het SInharaja rainforest dan is dit een uitstekende, zo niet de beste locatie. Leuk is dat het hotel meldt dat er geen zwembad is maar wel een privé waterval. Dit is ook zo, kort na onze aankomst begeleide de dame van het hotel ons naar deze waterval om te zwemmen. Het hotel voorziet een gids, Kumara. Hij is fantastisch, hij past het wandeltempo perfect aan de groep aan en hij heeft een onuitputtelijke kennis van de natuur. Zijn Engels is veel beter dan gemiddeld in Sri Lanka.

Rainforest Mount Lodge en biedt een barbecue en uitzicht op de bergen in Deniyaya. Rain Forest Mount Lodge ligt tegenover Pitadeniya, de hoofdingang tot het regenwoud Sinharaja. Fantastisch mooie locatie met zeer lieve en gastvrije mensen. Uitzicht was erg mooi. Op loopafstand van het regenwoud. Heerlijk gegeten. Had nog wel langer willen blijven.

Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation. Its unmatched hospitality, and inviting ambiance have left an indelible mark on my travel memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly exceptional homestay experience in Sri Lanka.

Greencliff Mirissa beschikt over een buitenzwembad en biedt accommodatie in Mirissa met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The pool is part jacuzzi, so that was a pleasant surprise. Quiet surroundings with a fantastic paddy field view. Kitchen had all the necessary utensils with a decent supply of spices and condiments. Would definitely come back here.

Cinnamon View Lodge Mirissa ligt in Mirissa in de regio Matara District, en heeft een balkon. Uniek verblijf middenin de natuur tussen de apen. Klein maar fijn. Prima badkamer met warm water. Ruim balkon. Ligt op twee kilometer afstand van het centrum van Mirissa, laatste stukje toegangsweg is onverhard en is bergopwaarts.

Rainforest Nature House ligt in Deniyaya in de regio Matara District en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The hosts are amazing!! It's run by two brothers on their parents' tea plantation. The two brothers are helpful, caring, polite, and very eager to show you around in their village. And I will absolutely encourage you to let them show you around. Their mum makes the most delicious meals, better than any restaurants I've visited during my 3 weeks stay. The little house has a beautiful view of the rain forest. I really enjoyed sitting on the little balcony drinking coffee. It's a kettle in the room so you can have coffee or tea whenever you like to. They also arranged a walk in Sinharaja for me, it was a very nice walk, about 4 hours. We didn't see a lot, so if you're interested in birds, I will recommend doing some of the longer hikes. And even go in another gate than the closest one.

The Whitegates Lodge ligt in Midigama, op 6 km van Ahangama, en biedt gratis WiFi en een tuin. Galle ligt op 26 km afstand. Er is gratis privéparkeergelegenheid bij de accommodatie. Home away from home tegenover mijn lievelingsstrand. Ruime kamer die van alle gemakken is voorzien, fijne badkamer, goed werkende airco, een koelkastje (zo fijn!), bureau, iedere dag heerlijk ontbijt en een ontzettend lief gezin! Omdat de home stay een beetje van de weg ligt is het rustig. De tuin is prachtig. Ik sliep hier 10 dagen in mijn eentje, huurde een scooter en was daarmee zo in Ahangama en Weligama. Perfecte locatie en een heerlijk bed!
