We stayed in the delux cabin. It was a little tired and dated.

Great location. Very quiet. Close to wineries and the awesome Magpie And Stump Hotel a short walk up the road. The cottage had lots of character and charm. Lovely garden. Nice decor and modern bathroom. Breakfast supplies and wine/chocolate a nice touch. Good communication from staff.

Auburn is a quiet village at the southern end of the Clare valley which makes it a great base for winery adventures and walking around - it is on the Riesling trail. There is a pub and a restaurant as well as a supermarket. The Rising Sun hotel does good dinners (just don’t expect your rare steak to come rare).

We had an overnight stay in Auburn for a quick business trip, so we weren't there to look around at all. However, it is obviously a beautiful area! We had dinner at Sevenhill Hotel - fantastic venue. Our accommodation at Lyreen's was excellent and we will be remembering this B&B for future visits.

Auburn is ideally close to Clare, is at the start of the Reisling Trail, has a great little supermarket and a really nice vibe. Add to that we stayed at the amazing 'Cullen House', a perfect little piece of paradise. All made for an amazing, romantic weekend away.

So central to everything in the Clare Valley.
So central to everything in the Clare Valley. Very easy to get aroundv- in fact we usually walked from our accommodation to the main street. The Riesling / Rattler Trail starts in Auburn at the old Railway Station.
The house was wonderful with the wood fire in the lounge and gorgeous views from the deck. The house was very well equipped, from making toasted sandwiches for lunch, playing pictionary or choosing a movie on Netflix, the owner had set up the house to make us feel very much at home. Most days we rode our bikes along the Riesling trail, explored out the back gate along the Wakefield River with our dogs, or visited cellar doors in the main street of Auburn. One day we drove into Clare and Mintaro for some more great adventures with our 4yr old.
We came to Auburn as part of a pleasant road trip through South Australia and were pleasantly surprised to find such a gem of a place.
The meal was truly splendid and served by two delightful young ladies.
Each course and the ingredients were explained when it was delivered to us, and our taste buds were enjoying tasting the different elements.
I would definitely recommend staying here and dining in the wonderful restaurant.
Great location, house larger than anticipated, lovely gardens to sit in with views over a sheep paddock. Great location for walking into Auburn, or for doing the Reisling trail. Included breakfast was a sort of “prepare it your self” mix of cereals/pancake mix/bacon/eggs/bread. Would have liked a better quality juice and actual fresh milk (long life milk was supplied), but otherwise was decent enough. Overall a great stay!
The mezzanine floor , lovely clean sheets ,amazing position in Auburn great kitchen . Liked all the venues right next door and close by . The wine left for us was lovely surprise
Excellent meal and service in the dining room hallway and extremely good value. A well run hotel. Room very basic old pub style but with good linen and comfortable bed.
Great location. Provisions for tea & coffee. Mini bar available. Walking distance to restaurant, hotel, coffee shops, IGA. Super comfy bed, beautifully decorated
