The location is awesome! You can really feel connected with nature and enjoy a peaceful getaway from the city. The place is cozy and clean. The hosts are super nice and even shared some delicious organic fruits with us. The kitchen is well equipped, and we truly appreciated finding some complimentary essentials — such a thoughtful touch. Thank you to the hosts for making our stay so welcoming!

Peter is just an amazing host. Had super nice conversations with him and his place is just a delight to stay at. The place is indeed a tropical bliss and it is just uplifting to stay there. Bed was comfy, bathroom clean, dogs cute, do you need anything else?

The hotel manager arranged late check in for us. Mary-lee was amazing, friendly and made our stay enjoyable. We forgot my daughters toy in the room and she keep it for us until I could arrange to collect it. Our room was clean and a good size. The hotel was quiet and we felt safe.

To some it was quaint, but I’m afraid to us it was rather shabby. I could not stand the cigarette smoke that pervaded in and around the house. I had to ask if smoking could be avoided whilst we were eating our evening meal.

Imagine, if you will, spending a couple of nights in the home of David Sedaris before he became marvellously wealthy through book publishing, signings and one night theatre performances but with the same eclectic interior decorating. You can add in a bit of architectural curiosity as parts of the building were shipped in by slow boat from a dilapidated chateau in France. Mix that with the most peaceful tropical, creek flowing at your doorstep, rainforest setting. If this sounds like your cup of tea then this is for you. It is a bed and breakfast share accommodation with the host, Peter and Steve and pets Oska and Miilie and a cat. If you are seeking a standardised franchised corporation sterile accommodation then give it a miss. If not then this may well be the place if you are seeking to share future dinner table stories of life and Australian adventures. If you have a light appetite do mention this to Peter otherwise you will be getting a big breakfast. Keeping in mind this is the wettest part of Australia so if you have the luxury of time make a booking in the window of predicted sunshine. We nailed it for two days and it was perfection.

Sarah is amazing. We couldn’t find any place for dinner closer to Mena Creek flower house just because it was a public holiday and Sarah happily cooked dinner for us.The cabin is clean and the view is amazing.I wish we could stay a bit longer.
