Beautifully refinished historic hotel in downtown Queenstown was a great find. Our room was large and even came with a gas fired fireplace. Ralph is an excellent host. He very graciously provided our breakfast at 6:30 am as we needed to travel to Strahan to catch a tour.

Have to wait a couple more years to get the train going through to Strahan again . This will be the highlight of the area. Had a great meal at the Empire hotel. A historic town with ample opportunities to go hiking, sight seeing, mountain biking, with the West Coast wilderness Railway departing from here and heritage tours also available. It is easy to walk around and find a place for a meal or coffee.

Queenstown is a fabulous place to visit.
Queenstown is a fabulous place to visit. There's a lot to see, some great walks, and the people are really friendly and helpful. It's an old mining town surrounded by spectacular mountains and you'll need more than a few days to fully appreciate what it has to offer. We were there for 4 days during the Unconformity Festival held biannually in October but wished we had longer. The weather was fabulous for the first 2 days and then it rained, which is quite common in this area but shouldn't put anyone off visiting. One of our favourite places to eat was JJ's where we had delicious homemade vegetable soup and absolutely delectable bread and butter pudding! The Gallery Museum was also a highlight with its wonderful mining history display. Even just walking around the streets is a treat. This quirky town should be on everyone's itinerary when visiting Tasmania - but don't forget your raincoat.

Queenstown has lost most of its population. There are many vacant storefronts on Main Street. We enjoyed our overnight stay but found no reason to stay longer. I hope they find a way to revitalize their town! Nice people and great food at our hotel.GerardUnited States of America - 10Scored 10

The town was so cute, I could come again when I return to Tasmania. I've told family and friends who travel to Tasmania to stay at queenstown and come to mountain view motel accommodation was lovely and the beds were excellent thank you very much 😊 Mary

I met the most friendly and helpful people in Queenstown. I was disappointed the train wasn't running, due to maintenance. Without the train, l spent my time visiting art places and the museum. I also looked at iron bluff and the waterfall. Throughly enjoyed lots of coffee at MoonScape.

The rooms are also cosy and warm. Mountain view is good, fantastic. Price is very reasonable. No problem with virtual check-in. Just call the number provided and you will be given number to access the box to collect the unit keys. Happened to meet the host, Henry who is very friendly and generous. Didn't charge us when we mistakenly opened a bottle of wine. Refused to charge though we offered to pay. Thank you.

Linen was hotel quality and bed we comfortable. Toiletries supplied. Location in easy right a the top of town so easy to explore from. Parking outside your room. Pub style meal was nice in the adjoining front bistro. Even with the pub (nicely decorated) at the front, the rooms were quiet of an evening.
