Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania.

Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania. A gorgeous sandstone convict built bridge, colonial buildings, the old Richmond Historic Gaol, the Rivers Arm Hotel. The walk along the river is lovely and lots of happy ducks. Crafty shops. Well worth a visit. Wish I had stayed longer.

The Richmond area had a lovely village atmosphere and worth staying a night or two. Australia's oldest bridge, quality cafes - Czegs, Richmond Arms for pub food and great little shops - a lovely town.

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney...

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney and Melbourne, all of Tasmania, is a breath of fresh air. We flew into Hobart early in the morning and went straight to Richmond. Automatic relaxation. All you need to do is walk up and down the main street. There are a coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, antique shops. The opening and closing hours are a little unpredictable and no matter what time of year you will need summer and winter clothes because once the wind comes, it’s cold.

Our stay at The Mill House Cottage was wonderful. It's a gorgeous, well-appointed and charmingly decorated cottage with everything you could possibly need or want. The fridge/pantry was stocked with a delicious array of breakfast options and we were delighted at the delivery of home baked bread each day! Right on the doorstep of Richmond's iconic bridge and surrounded by lovely gardens. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

As per the photos and the name, gracious and spacious spotlessly clean slightly older style wonderful accommodation on the outskirts of Richmond. Great location. Jeanette and Brett both delightful. I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it as a place to stay. Room and bathroom huge, well appointed and equipped kitchenette. TV. The place is beautifully furnished and well setup with everything and more. The spa is a great addition and a treat in the evening over a cider from the supplied selection in the fridge. The place is close to vineyards and cherry orchards while also walking distance to the Richmond bridge. This was a great place to stay for our last couple of nights in Tasmania.

My partner and i often travel to Hobart for work and in the past 6 months we've tired of staying in the CBD hotels. This trip is our fifth in two months where we have stayed at Mulberry Cottage and each stay has been exceptional. Maureen is a wonderful host, beautiful and comfortable accommodation and a lovely village.

After arriving in Hobart we wanted to travel a short distance from the Airport for our first night then set off the next day to Queenstown to see the West Coast. We were also able to visit Pooley wines just 2 minutes from Richmond Arms Hotel. Richmond Arms serve Devonshire teas and have a good Food Menu.

We had facilities to make our own breakfast which we did. The owner rang us while we were travelling to Richmond and as we were less than an hour away, he arranged to leave the property open with the key inside. We really enjoyed where we stayed, the location and Richmond itself.
