We had a delightful long weekend staying in a gorgeous Art Deco cottage that was warm, beautifully done up and very comfortable. A great location for romping around with our little one exploring the walking tracks and meeting highland cattle. Next time we’ll bring extra provisions ( salt, oil, laundry powder) so we can make more use of the facilities and stay longer

Restaurant open but not always.
Good for a night passing through to somewhere else.
Didn't see any staff but the Wooly cows and wallabys are beautiful

Tarraleah was a great place to base ourselves while we explored the surrounding areas. There was a large communal dining room that everyone was welcome to use. There different types of accommodation on the beautifully manicured estate.

Tarraleah is off the beaten track.
Tarraleah is off the beaten track. No shops, no WiFi but has a restaurant & the cabin had a well equipped kitchen if you took your own supplies. The grounds are well maintained & pretty. The bed was not very comfortable, a fan was provided for cooling. The room was a good size. A cask of water was provided. Tarraleah has an interesting history. Worth a visit if you can go without a few comforts.

A quiet stay in a beautiful period cottage.
A quiet stay in a beautiful period cottage. Should have booked 2 nights instead of 1 and not stayed in Hobart which was only about 1 hour way!
Very clean and well-appointed with lovely gardens, loved the open fireplace!! The restaurant was within walking distance and quite adequate. Accommodation we would highly recommend!

Location is great, it's worth staying here to break up the journey to the west coast. Great views of the hydro station. Lots of historical signs and Tarraleagh Estate is an historical site. Nature at the front door with wallabies, highland cows, ducks, goats and lovely bush walks. The cottage was super clean, spacious, comfy and warm.
Highly recommend. Perfect stay.
