The accomodation was very quaint and just what we wanted for a getaway. It was private and quiet, yet super close (short walk) to everything you would need. Great restaurants and cafes nearby. Lovely authentic bathtub!

Super friendly owners, great location behind the newly renovated pub (but not noisy!) Good location right in town.

What's not to love about Tenterfield, especially when the Autumn colour puts on a show! There's plenty to do for lovers of history, also several national parks a short distance from town, other scenic drives (Tourist Drives 7 and 9 are highlights), and short road trips to nearby towns that have different character to investigate.
Sadly the Visitor Information Centre is permanently closed so it's best to do your research online or before you get to Tenterfield. Also there are not many places to eat open on certain days of the week (we found Sunday particularly difficult) and several museums and places of interest have reduced their days of opening. Probably Thursday to Sunday provides more options than Sunday to Wednesday.

Quaint little businesses in the town and friendly people.
Quaint little businesses in the town and friendly people. We had a very negative experience with one boutique shopkeepers' quarters accommodation. which had such potential but didn't see through and especially for the price however the town was gorgeous and everyone else was so friendly and accommodating. We have family living nearby and will come back to this gorgeous little town.
The "Stone Fruit" bar has exceptional coffee, the florist was lovely and arty, and the clothes choices were fantastic! Lots of little quaint coffee places dotted up the street. The Peter Allen motel was old (loved the kitsch orange floor tiles in the bathroom) very clean, central, friendly and just all-round welcoming.

I grew up just down the highway from Tenterfield and was very pleasantly surprised when I visited it again for the first time in 40 years, for a wedding.
The Northern Tablelands of NSW is a beautiful area and Tenterfield now has a great place to stay in the Commercial Boutique Hotel; really good cafes for breakfast or lunch (Badmanners Cafe, Courtyard Cafe); and several restaurants and pubs (Colonial Hotel) for an enjoyable evening meal.
Lots to see in the area or further up or down the New England Highway.

We did not get to the accommodation because of the fires at Tenterfield but that was no fault of the owner who was very helpful to me when I explained our situation. I hope to stay there at a later date when the bush fires settle down and would like to have the money I have paid in abeyance until we can arrange another day to attend

The Town is as dead as a Dodo, but when I was last here 30 years ago, it was then too. One can safely fire a cannon down the road at 7 p.m. and as for finding a meal, there were very limited choices. The next town up the road in Qld, Stanthorpe, is humming!

We only had one day so drove the Mackenzie Mountain tourist route#9 to see the granite rocks and they were amazing. Then drove to Boonoo Boonoo National Park where the walks are quite short to the falls (sadly very little water due to drought conditions but still worth going) The rock pools were beautiful despite low water.
We enjoyed our walk along the main street and visited the Tenterfield Traveller shop.
Lots of great dining options.
There's a skate park which looks brand new and lovely walks through the parklands along Tenterfield Creek
Located on the main road, it is easy to find and access the property. Check-in was quick and easy. The room, while small, was clean and comfortable. It's a comfortable walk into the main shopping area of Tenterfield to look for something to eat and have a look around. The continental breakfast is basic and is provided to you the night before, which is great if you want to make an early start. A great option if you simply need somewhere to rest while on a long road trip.
I stayed for a 0700 meeting in Tenterfield so I wouldn't have to run up the hill at 0400. This is only the second time I've stayed in Tenterfield since 2019 and is still one of my favourite places to visit.
The motel staff were very friendly, the bed was comfortable. The heating was great and warmed up the room very quickly. I will be staying here again if I need to visit Tenterfield overnight again.
Located along Rouse Street, the Tavern Hotel is a spacious, clean and convenient base when exploring the historic Tenterfield and the scenic Bald Rock and Boonoo Boonoo National Park. The tavern, just a skip and a hop from the motel, serves great t-bone steak and a welcome bonus at the end of the day.
The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Having a continental breakfast included in the cost was great 😃
The owners were friendly and very welcoming. They recommended somewhere to eat just around the corner (The Telegraph Hotel) and we had dinner there
Good place to stay.
We were upgraded to a room upstairs in the original hotel. Sooo lovely :)
The rooms have been beautifully renovated and were quite spacious . The bed was super comfy and styled tastefully.
The hotel is in a great location in the middle of town, with private parking out the back.
At first glance I don’t mind saying I was a little underwhelmed BUT the rooms have been renovated and have everything you need, the bed is super comfy and we had a fabulous meal at the hotel which is just across the driveway. Also its close (an easy walk) to town.
Loved the decor. The room was beautiful. The bathroom outstanding. The sense of history everywhere makes for an authentic Tenterfield experience. Our evening meal was first class and the wait staff were friendly and efficient.
Large comfortable room, well set out, plenty of light with large window. Simple toast with jam and fruit juice supplied for breakfast. Walking distance to shops. They recommended pub (The Telegraph) for dinner - good meal.
Location........better than good.
Consideration shown by Management.........better than good.
Comfort, Room layout..........better than good.
Would I stay again........I will on every occasion I pass through Tenterfield.
The accomodation was very quaint and just what we wanted for a getaway. It was private and quiet, yet super close (short walk) to everything you would need. Great restaurants and cafes nearby. Lovely authentic bathtub!
Beautiful rooms and great history. Nearby to wonderful National Parks and fabulous history of the town. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The rooms were warm. Breakfast was nice.
Cute cottage with loads of history. Right in the middle of town an a short walk to cafes and pubs and lovely bonus of breakfast items (eggs tomatoes and toast milk and tea).
