Close enough to Hasselt to be convenient, but also far enough away to escape to a more peaceful area. The restaurants are very good with a wide choice of food and drink. Locals are very friendly and welcoming.

Kortessem is a busy little town with lots of traffic going through but after a few minutes you are in the apple, pear and cherrie plantations. The bike roads are very well kept. Maastricht, Tongeren, Sint Truiden aren't very far away if you like citywalks and shopping.

Kortessem is a quiet, small town, but with enough infrastructure (Bars, restaurants, supermarket...).
Not so expensive like Hasselt or Gent, thus a good base for trips to Maastricht, Gent, Hasselt,...
Very luxurious hotel with a good eye for detail. The place looks like a small castle. The hotel staff was very welcoming and kind. The room was very nice and clean. We loved the shower and bed. Also the small breakfast was very tastefull.
