Excellent service. There was a major problem as the hotel was too full, but the staff/owner went out of their way to fix the problem by finding me anther hotel, and reimbursed me 100% (+ new room free of charge). This is great service and you don't see this kind of "care" that often these days, hence why I do recommend this place!

Easy to park the car right in front of the hotel/restaurant. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Bread, ham, cheese, croissants, jams and Nutella, yogurts, boiled eggs and orange juice. We were also served hot chocolate and coffee. The location was about 20mins from Morcote and near to the motorway to continue the journey to Italy. There is a minibar in the room, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is very extensive. We stayed four nights at the hotel. We brought our own car, but the train station is very close. We were absolutely pleased with our stay. Balerna is not far from Mendrisio, Lugano and the Italian border near Como.

There is a restaurant on site if you don't feel like hunting for food in the area. The breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and stocked with toiletries. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I stayed only one night as I was on the way to Italy but definitely would consider this hotel for future stays.
