Our room was lovely and clean and had a view of the old town rooftops and river. This hotel has parking and also the funicular station directly to the castle, right under the hotel, very convient. The hotel is in the old town and is close enough to walk to every site, including the old bridge and the castle. The breakfast is fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly and recommended a great restaurant, wirtz haus zum spreisel. We enjoyed our visit!

There are many attractive villages along the river Neckar,...
There are many attractive villages along the river Neckar, with castles up in the hills. Ideal for hiking and riding your bycicle along the river. This village has 4 castles, some of them still in private hands. Neckarsteinach is not the most attractive village in the area, it's a bit dusty and messy, but a good starting point for visits in the vicinity. My advise: Dilsberg ( a small village up in the hills), Bad Wimpfen, and of course Heidelberg.
