The Parador de Ayamonte enjoys superb views of the river Guadiana and the Algarve. It has a seasonal swimming pool and a restaurant. Rooms have views over the river, the garden or the swimming pool.

My wife and I lived near Ayamonte for 17 memorable years.
My wife and I lived near Ayamonte for 17 memorable years. It is a typical Andalucian town by the river/sea. It is not sophisticated but a working town/fishing port. If you want a true taste of Andalucia, this is the perfect place to visit. If you are looking for sophisticated restaurants, English food and beer, this is not for you.

My wife and I lived just outside Ayamonte for 15 years.
My wife and I lived just outside Ayamonte for 15 years. We were selling our home after 15 wonderful years there and needed a couple of extra nights in town after handing over the keys. We chose to live there because it was an authentic, "non touristy", Andalucian town by the sea. Nearby Isla Canella has fabulous beaches, Portugal is just a 20 minute ferry ride across the river Guadiana. There are numerous restaurants and tapas bars around the town. It is a great place to shop. Although we have sold our house there, we intend to return regularly to enjoy it.

Clean, very well located.
Clean, very well located. Easy to find, once it's "discovered" the first time ! No signage at all on building. the lady who met us had to find us and escort us to accommodation . She was very helpful. We had parked 50 m from the building on first attempt to find it. Plenty of free parking nearby, easy walk to shops, cafe's, Bar's etc. Will definitely use again.

It is a lovely place to walk around with the cafes and restaurants and bars clustered around the rivers. But other than that there is not a lot going for it. Parking is a nightmare.
Found the food really disappointing and expensive both in the supermarkets and restaurants. The best thing about Ayamonte is the 15 minute ferry ride to Portugal where the food and prices are so much better provided you stay away from the river front.

The parador was a 30 minute walk downhill from the town center, so people with mobility issues may have to drive or take a cab there. The centre is very walkable, plenty of bars and restaurants, plus if course you can take the river ferry to Portugal ( less than 2 €) with good views back towards Ayamonte. Nice place to visit
This was an exceptionally wonderful apartment. It had an amazing view, it had a large interior and a spacious balcony with outdoor dining. Everything is very clean and fully equipped and brand new. The people who showed us the place were very kind and you will feel comfortable with the accommodations. You even have a terrace at the top to watch the stars at night and see the lights of the bridge!
I would recommend everyone to stay here because you get the best of all worlds: close to the golf course, next door to Portugal and the beaches.
The apartment is outstanding, testfully decorated with a beautiful view. It has all the comforts and a perfect location; within a walking distance to an old town. Comuting to wanderful beachiches takes only 10 minutes by car. The hosts are very nice and helpful. If you come from Portugal, be aware that there is a time difference both countries; we came 1 hour later than we were supposed to, but the hosts were very understanding, which we appreciate very much!
The Posada is in a great location in Ayamonte, lovely spacious room. If you are English you will be glad to know there’s a kettle, but bring your own mug (or buy a souvenir one in town) the coffee cups provided are too small for tea!
Stunning roof bar terrace with great views of the town & Portugal. Although whoever gave planning permission for the horrible tower block should be shot.
loved the synchronized electric window shutters 🙂
The greeting and information given was very welcome. The place was very clean and the nice touches of wine, water and tea and coffee much appreciated. Access to the town was a 15 min walk down hill. A short taxi ride back is recommended. €5. The place is close to many lovely beaches or if you want to explore Portugal a short car drive and you are there. The sunset down by the river in town is beautiful.
It is a nice, clean, safe hotel in a historic building in the middle of town. But if you are hoping on enjoying anything specific that you see online, be prepared for disappointment. Whatever pictures you are seeing, on either their own website or booking, are NOT necessarily indicative of the room you will have, even if you are looking at pics of a specific type of room.
This hotel has reasonably sized comfortable rooms with balcony's. The rooms are a little dated but I have always found them to be clean and pleasant. The hotel has limited facilities, but this is not an issue since it is a five minute walk to the centre of Ayamonte where there are many places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Lovely clean modern house close to the centre of Ayamonte. The house appears to be newly refurbished with everything you could need, outside space was amazing although due to the weather didn't actually get to use these spaces. Very close to shops and the ferry port. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Great location and very pleasant and helpful staff (special thanks to Maria!). Easy trip back to Portugal by ferry. Restaurant choices very good - try LPA for a special meal, which was recommended my hotel staff.
Excellent location.nice one bedroom apartment. Sofa bed is also adequate for an extra person .
Really nice hosts.i'll definitely come again.
Just perfect for all the bars and tapas in Ayamonte .
The apartment was lovely. Very well equipped and comfortable. The views from both terraces over the river to Portugal were amazing. Fabulous sunsets. Highly recommended
