This was a magical place to stay in El Chorro! Amazing views out the door, walking distance to the train station and restaurant, comfortable bed, lots of light, and hot shower. Felt very cozy and I really enjoyed my time there, was my favorite place to stay in town for hiking El Caminito del Rey.

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel.
Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit.
The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.
An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.
The hotel is really well located in El Chorro and has a wonderful restaurant terrace with just an amazing view.
Our room was very small and minimalistic but had everything we needed. There are bigger rooms / with better view / with private terrace available, but for us it was just not worth the higher price since there is such a beautiful common terrace and we only stayed for one night. We really enjoyed our stay. Plus: There is free parking on site available!
Btw. breakfast is good for a very fair price (big portions!)
Jacques is a wonderful host. Everything was better than expected with great view, big private room, property, etc. Breakfast was really special, absolutely delicious! Jacques puts a lot of effort into a nice home cooked spread that I looked forward to every morning. The extra meals are also worth the money! Great community dinner vibes. Honor code for drinks is great as well. Climbing nearby and out in the serene countryside.
We had a lovely stay in a well equipped house right in the middle of El Chorro. The host was incredibly accommodating and flexible making sure we were comfortable, and going above and beyond in his efforts to assist.
Communication was very clear, I can't recommend highly enough!
Great facilities, washing machine, dishwasher, free coffee, 3 bathrooms and plenty of outdoor space.
We look forward to coming back soon!!
the pool area and Garden was good for the children, the house was clean and when we had problems they were dealt with very quickly.
The wifi is good and the kitchen was quite well stocked. it was not too far away from El Chorro and the Caimito del Rey. Although the roads are a little treacherous.
Also we left a computer lead behind and the host was kind enough to arrange for it to be sent to us.
Nice community style place. Common kitchen, living room, garden and pool. Lots of climbers and hikers and interesting persons to meet. The owner and the welcome were super nice too. The hamac and the pool were perfect to get rest and refreshment after a long walk. It's also 20min from Caminito del Rei and they accept to prepare you an early breakfast to not leave on an empty stomach.
The area is absolutely beautiful. Best place to relax and doing some sports. For instance hiking caminito del Rey and via ferrata el chorro. Nearby is a rentel service for climbing gear.
The room is fully equipped with some plates, cutlery, koffee an tea. It's very clean. The room furniture is new. The view from the room is breathtaking.
Clara was an excellent host responding immediately to any questions and offering extra help. The house was warm and easy to live in with a well equipped kitchen area, comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. It was well sighted for El Chorro rock climbing and was within easy reach of the small towns of Alora and Ardales.
Our host was very friendly and giving. We enjoyed the location and the climbing in the area. Don’t forget to say Hi to Cheesepa the dog (she’s shy but we saw her wag her tail when she thought we weren’t looking) and Looney the cat. loved picking oranges and lemons just outside our door.
Cosy rustic house with a modern well equipped kitchen in proximity of the El Chorro climbing area. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The house was very neat and reasonably comfortable. We would definitely consider it again in the future.
The location was perfect, it was close from every climbing spot. The view on the cliffs and the fields is awesome. The place was really clean. Antonio was really kind with us. He offered us some of his delicious oranges from his trees.
Lovely house, great location, nice pool and well equipped. Very pleasant house manager, quick efficient and informative despite my lack of Spanish. A lovely relaxing spot after a days climbing or whatever you're doing yourself.
The villa is located really close to the climbing area.
Rafa welcomed us great and was always available to make the stay even better.
Its a really cozy house with a fireplace and a beautiful garden to relax after a busy day.
