Balcón de los Montes, hotel in Ríogordo

Located in the picturesque, whitewashed village of Colmenar surrounded by countryside scenery, the hotel’s location has convenient road access for reaching the beaches of the Costa del Sol.

We got the larger room with the balcony. It is a little more expensive, but the balcony was awesome, and added a lot of living space to the room. The room was very clean with plenty of towels. Good hot water. Space to dry our washed clothes on the balcony and park our bikes. Checkin employee was kind.

A typical Andalucian hill town .

A typical Andalucian hill town . We passed through on a 21 day trek from Maro to Bolonia on the Atlantic. Probably not somewhere you'd go out of the way for, but for those of us looking for the real Anderlucia rather then the beaches of the Costa del Sol this is it.
