The design/decor of the hotel is very special; thoughtful. tasteful, utterly charming, retaining or recreating as much of the medieval features as possible in this sensitively converted stone building complex, in particular the 208 bespoke light fittings! Also though some very modern aspects - whirlpool baths, for example.

Easy access from the freeway. Old but well maintained hotel, great for a night stop. Staff is very helpful (we arrived late on a Sunday and had some makeshift sandwiches served with scraps from the bar)

We were very impressed by this hotel and the location. The historic stone building is very well and aesthetically updated for tourism, the garden and the surroundings are beautiful.
