The private room with private bathroom was clean, bright and very comfortable. The staff answered all questions I had. Olaf was wonderful. The communal meal with pilgrims was delicious. It’s a great place to stay for tired pilgrims.

Dinner was terrible...re-heated chicken and fries. Room door lock was extremely hard to open...would have burned to death in a fire for not being able to unlock door from inside fast enough. Located at truck stop...seemed over priced compared to other hotels we have stayed at in Madrid and St Jean Pied de Port.

Urdaniz has no stores and just a Expensive 2 star Michelin restaurant. Great if you have a car- sucks if on foot. The family did prepare a dinner for 12€ each. Hikers need to plan on a good carry from Zubiri to Villava
