Raise your wine glass and toast to the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. Lovely city, with plenty to see and do, it is being modernised on the outskirts and the tram system is having work done but it didn't detract from the ease of getting around to see many of the attractions. The main city centre is beautiful and worth a visit. There is an abundance of great bars, restaurants, cafes, tabacs and a host of attractions to see. The main part of the city centre is clean and the people in this part of the city are welcoming. It would be nice if there were two visitor centers, not one.Sadly,too, the Hop on Hop off was a little disappointing, too. Also, the construction along the River Garonne was difficult to walk around.
