Lovely place.
Lovely place. The owner was waiting for us to give us a tour of the property and show us the room and gave us a good idea of the menu for the evening which turned out to be a chef’s meal. Lovely foie gras and truit on pumpkin finishing by a white chocolate cake. Nice romantic evening in the bedroom... good sleep and lovely fresh breakfast with local products in the morning. The place was stunning.
The place was stunning. The manager Fabien was lovely and his staff were all really friendly. The meal in the restaurant was wonderful. The room we eventually stayed in was excellent, very comfortable with a nice shower and interesting fire in the old fireplace as well as a radiator. Great coffee at breakfast! The rooms were a bit hit and miss. Our first room smelled of stale water and drains which wasn't nice and when we found an old towel in the bathroom Fabien instantly moved us to a better room that didn't smell. WiFi in the rooms wasn't good. The room I'd booked was supposed to be in the tower and therefore a round shape and I was a bit disappointed not to be given that room.MathewAustria - 10Scored 10
Beautiful building with nice garden, pond and superb view...
Beautiful building with nice garden, pond and superb view over lovely Lorraine countryside. At end of a quiet tree-lined street in a hilltop village. If you ever fancy staying in a mediaeval castle without breaking the bank, with the bonus of a good dinner and lovely surroundings, I recommend Hattonchâtel
